Error message, "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option."

I permanently have got the message, "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option."
I had tried to use several of my credit card and PayPal. The Number, CVV, Date are OK. These cards fully work everywhere except e-Bay. I sure of this because half hours ago successfully paid on B&H.
Also, my bank told me they even didn't see a transaction was being attempted from e-Bay or Pay-Pal and any other transaction while I had been making payment on e-Bay.

 

May someone can help or know how to resolve this issue? FAQ doesn't have an answer. Call by phone isn't a good idea because I live in 12 hours a different timezone.

Having this problem as well. I won multiple auctions and paid for them with no issue. Then randomly nothing works. Tried a lot of different payment methods, all with sufficient funds. Nothing.. I’ve been in contact with support for the last 2 days and still nothing is getting resolved. I have 3 items to pay for and am at risk for bad reviews because Ebay rather than myself. Absolutely unacceptable. EBay should have to pay for these auctions and back charge me, or push my payments through. I’m beyond frustrated with eBay and the lack of help. I’m a new user and absolutely regret signing up for this

Tried to pay with 3 different cards from different banks, gpay, paypal.. tried different devices, desktop/mobile.. nothing freaking works, just getting the idiotic useless error message. Called the banks to see what the problem might be on their side, they are not getting any request from the merchant so it's an ebay internal issue for sure.

 

Tried to get in touch with support - useless advices, clear cache, try incognito mode blabla bla - don't worry about negative feedback as we will clear it for you. I am worried about the freaking transaction maybe there's an item I was hunting for a long time and I finally got it at a decent price!!

 

Should be a shame for a global business at this size not to afford proper testing and such a low level customer support.

I'm also having the exact same issue everyone else is describing. Was anyone able to find a solution? Really frustrating and terrible on eBay's part. Thanks.

Same thing, my account seems to be unable to pay for things anymore (tried every payment method), I have been a long time user - Chile BTW.

I am also having the same issue. I ordered something from Aliexpress to check if the card has any problems and the payment went through no problem... This is frustrating because I won an auction and I am unable to pay for the item...

 

Sellers should consider moving to aliexpress at some point because ebay is clearly not able to provide its intented service.

Same exact problem - America. Made a few orders on collectible cards, not even that much money involved, then out of no where “please check your payment details” no matter what, tried other cards. Very frustrating since I made an offer and now they are waiting on me to pay!

I'm having the same problem. I believe that it's due to something that eBay changed in their most recent attempt to "fix" what wasn't broken. I purchased something from the UK, and went to pay, but kept getting the "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option." error. I did the following more than once to make sure my info was correct:

- Re-entered my card info

- Made sure my address matched my address listed in my bank info

- Double checked to make sure all of my money didn't magically disappear from my bank account

- Called my bank to make sure it wasn't a problem with them

 

I even tried some of the solutions in this thread, but none worked for me. I wound up contacting eBay to see what was the problem. I was told that it was to be handled by the Payment Processing team. I was also told that the Payment Processing team only interacts via email and that someone from the team would be getting in touch with me.

 

I haven't received any communication from them yet. In the meantime, eBay had the nerve to send me the "Pay for your item lest you get a nonpayment strike," email. Haha, I know it's an automated message, but still...

 

I've never had a nonpayment strike the whole 15 years I've been on eBay. It's disheartening that I might get one all because of an error with eBay's payment processing. The worst part is that it has been happening to a lot of people, and eBay is acting like the problem doesn't even exist.

 

I contacted the seller to let them know what was happening, and they suggested things I had already done. I'll keep the seller updated, but it's up to them to open a case if eBay doesn't fix because it's ultimately not the seller's problem that my payment won't go through.

This is such an inconvenience. In the 17 years I have been with eBay, this is the second time it has happened. First time being back in December 2020. Contacted customer service and was on the phone for over an  hour with them re-entering credit cards, clearing cache, history, removing and adding items to the shopping cart, trying different browsers, nothing worked. Opened a ticket and after a day or two started working again until now. It has been like this since Friday, February 19th.  Today is Tuesday and have items to pay and no way to pay. Sent messages to SELLERS apologizing for the delay.  Called eBay again and told them no way I am going through clearing everything as did not work before. I am sure it has to do with the new manage payment program. eBay should look into this and find out what's causing the issue and FIX IT.  Five days and sellers still waiting for payment. This is so wrong. Opened another ticket and waiting for it to be fixed. Trying every hour. I have tried paypal, different credit cards, gpay...EVERYTHING...Its so upsetting. Not sure if it will keep on happening but is such an inconvenience.

Omg! I am literally facing the same issue. As most of you have mentioned above! I have literally tried everything;
- multiple debit/credit cards
- made sure my address matched my address listed in my bank info
- cleared cache and cookies

- Checked with my bank (made sure I had the funds)

 

I spoke to customer service and they were not helpful as I was bounced around to 4 representatives. I even emailed them to clarify my issues. I also updated the SELLER to ensure they knew what was happening. I really dont want to loose my item or be charged extra.

Not sure whats next? Keep trying?
