Error message, "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option."

I permanently have got the message, "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option."
I had tried to use several of my credit card and PayPal. The Number, CVV, Date are OK. These cards fully work everywhere except e-Bay. I sure of this because half hours ago successfully paid on B&H.
Also, my bank told me they even didn't see a transaction was being attempted from e-Bay or Pay-Pal and any other transaction while I had been making payment on e-Bay.

May someone can help or know how to resolve this issue? FAQ doesn't have an answer. Call by phone isn't a good idea because I live in 12 hours a different timezone.

I was having the same issue and I seemingly was able to resolve it.

Initially I was using Google Chrome and attempted to use debit card, credit card, and paypal. Neither forms of payment worked and all my accounts had ample funds to make payment. After speaking with support, I was instructed to try a few troubleshooting methods which were unsuccessful. Ultimately, I was told to wait 36 - 48 hours and the issue should resolve itself.  I didn't want to wait 2 days however as I was fearful for my feedbck rating.

So, I went to my account settings and manually deleted all my payment methods / addresses, and re-updated it all. I then switched over to Microsoft Edge browser, logged into ebay, went to checkout, and the payment went through. 

I hope this is able to help someone having the same issue!

I have same issue and updating my phone number did not fix it. This is quite frustrating. Are there other suggestions?

I was having this issue with Ebay not accepting my card. I tried over and over, even made sure my bank knew that I was making the purchase. Yet Ebay still wouldn't allow it.

Finally my order went through when I used PayPal and chose my checking account, rather than a card. Paying directly through a checking account (through paypal) is perhaps more "trustworthy" in the eyes of Ebay than just using a debit/credit card. Don't know if this will work for anyone else, but it did for me. If you don't have your checking account connected to PayPal, you will have to start the process with PayPal and it will take multiple business days for it to go through. Once it does, then you might be able to pay directly with your checking account through PayPal.

I'm a buyer from US and having the same issue even today(08/22/2021). I tried multiple cards that I had and yet faced the same problem.
Did anyone find the solution and willing to help me out?
If I don't pay for my bid, ebay will mark a strike against me. 😞

I have been suffering from this problem for two months.
The solution I did.
Register an automatic transfer bank with paypal and deposit $ 100.
Register the unusable card with paypal.
Give priority to paying cards that cannot be used.
If you select paypal when paying the price, you can pay by card without any problem.

Hello! Had the same issue unfortunately. Been trying to purchase an item for about 15 hours now. At the beginning it was my bank who blocked the transaction, then, after a few tries eBay blocked me from checking out. I tried checking out as a guest, with another account I recently made and with my original account. Nothing worked, I even used different cards with no success. Checking out as a guest and in the new account I tried paying for the item but it didn't go through, the bank even said that there were no attempts of purchase with my debit card. HOWEVER WHAT DID IT FOR ME (using my original account) was paying through PayPal. I was able to get the order in using the same debit card that I was trying to use but with PayPal (it was already registered) and one more thing, a representative told me that my account was going to be blocked for 24 hours since the attempt that they flagged. Was this ever fixed? I’m having this exact problem and it has basically ruined a 20 year account. eBay appears to have no idea how to fix it.
