I permanently have got the message, "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option."
I had tried to use several of my credit card and PayPal. The Number, CVV, Date are OK. These cards fully work everywhere except e-Bay. I sure of this because half hours ago successfully paid on B&H.
Also, my bank told me they even didn't see a transaction was being attempted from e-Bay or Pay-Pal and any other transaction while I had been making payment on e-Bay.
May someone can help or know how to resolve this issue? FAQ doesn't have an answer. Call by phone isn't a good idea because I live in 12 hours a different timezone.

Question for anyone having this issue (we're also having it). 2nd times it's happened for us. Does it happen for you guys after a bunch of ebay activity? I'm just wondering because we've bid on and won and paid and done BIN in the last week. So like, is it because of too much activity?? It's ridiculous, let us pay for our **bleep**.

i think so yeah. after being on ebay a lot i wanted this item and i put my card info but for some reason it says "Please check your payment details or use a different payment option." its so annoying and idk how to fix the problem. tried many times and putting card info from different cards too but it just wont work and idk how to fix the problem which is so annoying

Well this is depressing. I just read through 5 **bleep** pages of people having the same issue as me and have found NO solution! **bleep**?!
Been trying to check out for 2 days straight now- NOTHING WORKS! Meanwhile, the price of the item I want goes up! **bleep** eBay!
Does anyone know anything on how to fix this?! I need to pay for my **bleep**!

This seemed like a solution for me. I contacted Live Chat and asked the first agent to transfer me to Managed Payments Department.
A representative from the Managed Payments Department verified my first and last name & the phone number listed on my account. Upon verifying these details they asked me to try paying again and the order went through with no issues.

Check with your bank, there might be a cap on how much spending you have access to in a single day.

Yeah, the same problem with me. And even money s been withdrawn, but after sometime eBay returns the money back.
I attempted this several times but nothing works every time money was withdrawn and returned back

I encountered the same problem today. I was trying to pay for an item with Quadpay (a pay-in-4 system similar to PayPal's Pay in 4 that I've used successfully on eBay previously) via my iPhone. The eBay system returned the "please check your payment details" error message, even though my details (name, address, phone number, etc.) were all correct. However, I then switched to PayPal, selected one of my stored cards, and the payment went through successfully. So I'm not sure what's going on - I did notice that both the eBay and Quadpay apps needed updating so I did that (didn't try the payment again after I'd updated the apps, however).
As my PayPal payment did go through successfully, I didn't contact eBay support at this point, but if I encounter the issue next time I try to use Quadpay, then I will.

no need to call, I have the same problem. I Have called several times got different instructions each time, nothing has changed still get the message. eBay is broken in so many ways. Try fixing the item specifics...I have the blue circle and lightening bolt but still getting message to add item specifics even though there are no items left to add. I select don't remind me again but they still come up. Other item specific issue is the listings that keep loosing the specifics that I have added. I feel like a rat on a treadmill. I keep trying to comply and eBay keeps moving the goal post. I am getting so sick of the inefficiency of this site.

I actually found out a few minutes ago that in some cases, there's a reason for the "please check your payment details" message that has nothing to do with errors on either end. It appears that, for a certain category of items which is being closed down next month, eBay is now only allowing payment via PayPal; any other method of payment, including ones that you've previously loaded and used successfully, will come back with the "payment details" message.

The same issue happened to me last night. Three times my payment was rejected. I called my card holder they show as well as my app does that the money was taken out and then immediately returned all 3 times. I called Ebay and was told I needed to use a different card because my account didn't have enough funds. I was insulted because that's not the case. I reached out to the seller who canceled the order. Then the item still showed I needed to pay for the item. Ebay then explained I had to wait 24 hours for it to clear even though the seller cancelled the order. For me I have lost faith in buying on Ebay and am choosing to leave. It's a shame because I pay up front and this is a lose for buyers. My card holder said there is a cliche in Ebay's system and the Ebay's representative dismisses that.

My payment was rejected and my card company says it's a cliche in Ebay's system. I tried reaching out to Ebay's chat system and got crickets with no response.

I was just getting a similar error message then tried removing all my special characters from the card holder's name (so a 'š' became a 's') and it suddenly went through. But yeah I couldn't use PayPal or Google Pay so I had to fill in my details manually
