Hello,
I have sold one item:
selling price: $19.98
Shipping charge: $12.98
Subtotal: $209.96
+ Sales taxes on buyer: $18.5
= Grand Total $228.46
I dont know why EBAY takes away $28.97 fee???
It should be only 12.55% on $196.98 selling price + $0.30 fixed order fee = $25.02
However, Ebay takes 12.55% on grand total $228.46 + $0.30 fixed order fee = $28.97???
Why do Ebay takes fee 12.55% on even $18.5 sales taxes that they buyer pay?
Why do I have to pay extra 12.55% on $18.5 sales taxes = $2.32 on the sales taxes?
This is so unreasonable and illegal that Ebay takes fees on the sales taxes of the transaction. This is overcharge to the sellers. I'm feeling very angry on this fee that Ebay takes from my transaction.

eBay is ripping us off, why am I paying an eBay seller fee on state tax, come on man…

The fee rate of 12.55% is more then my tax rate of 8.75%...

You don’t seem to understand how fees work. Why would eBay’s fee be related in any way to sales tax rates ?

Because they charge a fee rate of 12.55% on whatever tax was paid.

Never said is was related...

You think charging a sell fee of 12.55% on taxes is right? It may even be illegal...

You did a direct comparison:
”The fee rate of 12.55% is more then my tax rate of 8.75%... ”
Why would someone do that if they thought the two were unrelated?

Saying I'm being charged fees of 12.55% on tax collected that's not going into make account are even higher then my tax rate... So I'm paying fees on tax that is not collected or held by me.

Legal reason for a lawsuit anyone??? Or is it simply because you don't like it?

Sometimes we need to stop and take a breath. Try to look at something new with an open mind. Most times when we do that we will see more than we did before when we were upset and/or angry.
You do realize you are no longer paying fees to PayPal right? MP has taken on the Money processing for Ebay and therefore the money processing fees now go to Ebay.
FYI, you don't have a store, so it is unlikely that pre-Mp you were paying 8.75%.
Here is a link to the Fees BEFORE MP.
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4364
The fees in MP have NOT increased overall fees. The following numbers represent those that do not have a store and the fee rate for most common categories [not all].
Fees BEFORE going into MP
10.20% FVF + 2.9% PP fees = 13.10% plus 30 cent per transaction fee.
In MP the fees are:
10.20% FVF + 2.35% money processing fee paid to MP = 12.55% plus a 30 cent per transaction fee.
Starting August 2nd, PayPal is raising their fees, so they will be as follows:
10.20 Ebay FVF + 3.49 PP Fee = 13.69% plus .49 cent Per Transaction fee
PP is apparently offering different fees to different sellers, likely depending on size. From what I've seen it is between 2.59% and 3.49%.

Yes, so lets say you had a sale for $100 plus $10.00 in sales tax. $10.00 x 12.55% is $1.26. Keep in mind that Paypal always charged 2.9% on the entire payment without regard to what the money was for. So $10.00 X 2.9% = .29 cents. That you should be use to paying. So now we deduct that from the $1.26 that you find to be a new amount, 1.26 - .29 = .97 cents.
Now if you want to look at this as a $1.00 increase in fees for every $100.00 in sales. Is this so significant to you to cause all this stress? Will this damage your profits so much as to cause you this stress?
You need to consider sales that have NO sales tax. On those you are paying LESS in fees than pre MP. I know it is more popular to only look at anything negative about MP, but that will never tell you the entire story. There are transactions that you will SAVE money on too.
If you are truly interested in finding the actual impact to your account, whether positive or negative due to fees, you need to track and compare you sales for a few months. It is likely you will find out what most of us have when we do that and that would be that MP is much closer to a neutral change in fees over a months period of time. There are ups and downs, but overall it is a nothing burger.

So if the FVF on sales tax were lower than your tax rate, you’d be okay with it?

Yes, if the FVF on tax was zero, then I'm ok with that. FVF on tax is not right.
