I've been selling since 2003. Currently, I am a very light seller, maybe 1 or 2 items a month, which is ok because I want to keep my account current. I 'm doing ok on other platforms, with the fees and everything else, it kind of evens out, a little less of a headache...
I don't really mind buying and selling from time to time on ebay but this managed payment thing has me confused..
If buyers are able to still use Paypal how are we getting paid if they use PP and we have the MP thingy?
I learned my lesson a long time ago, I have an account specific to ebay and PP. After the PP outage they had in 2004 or 05, or when I had it attached to my personal account and my account got slammed, money gone. Bogus scammers here and there. Things have changed so much, its getting hard for me to keep up.
Any input would be greatly appreciated...

Consider it like someone paying with Visa or MasterCard or Discover or Amex. Paying with PayPal is the same thing - for the buyer. You just can't get paid and have your money put into PayPal. ebay has made it a one-way into and out-of your own bank or CU account.
(hmmmm, late to the ball, again)

The buyer uses PayPal to pay Managed Payments.
After that payment from the buyer to Managed Payments clears, Managed Payments turns around and pays your share out to your bank account.
See the "How Payouts Work" section of this page:

Hi. Way too much is being said about Ebay's managed payments. I have found it very easy to use. Buyers can pay any number of ways including with Paypal. It goes into the Ebay accounting and they credit you for it, take out their associated fees and remit it to you when payment clears. Usually within 24 hrs. They don't remit payments to you on Sat/Sun. It's like a bank. I receive payouts on a daily basis. My bank clears the next day. Very simple. I like being able to go under the Payment Tab and see every financial activity, the payment, the fees, the postage paid. You no longer are billed at the end of the month. I like that. It's really very simple. The total fees for the Managed Payments handling the money is a little less than a pure Paypal transaction.
