Accounting with the new managed payments reports is a NIGHTMARE

I used to think Paypal reports were bad until I saw what Ebay provides under managed payments - there isn't a single report I can find that offers a line item tally of items sold that INCLUDES THE NAME OF THE ITEM.  So now I have to go through and search every order number to find out what the sold item is?  The transaction reports are missing line items too because of the very strange payment hold system when a return is started (but not yet refunded).

This is an absolute NIGHTMARE.  Please dear God does someone have a way to get a real report that adds up correctly and includes product names?

Seller Hub>Performance>Sales

https://www.ebay.com/sh/performance/sales

The download available from this page contains item titles.  I am not sure you will find everything you need on this one report, though.  I agree with you, after a full year in MP, reports are still a mess.

I hope but don't expect ebay to get some thing work out about this part of MP and ebay.

To time consuming to go chase every were to get.

Re: Accounting with the new managed payments reports is a NIGHTMARE

Thank you.  What I ended up doing is downloading separate reports for each individual Payout, which at least gave me the correct numbers.  Sorted the spreadsheet by item number from there and then I just had to look up one order from each chunk of the same item.  Took me ten minutes so not too bad.

Here's hoping I can remember how I did this in a few months.

@crazyscientist

Glad you found a method that will work for you.  Just in case you are not aware, most of the downloadable reports only look back 90 days, so down load often.

Thank you - THAT is a potentially even worse problem.  The majority of Ebay sellers probably only do accounting once a year..

Yes, I think you are right.  I try to put that info out every chance I get...I probably sound like a broken record lol

Thank you for this link. I've been away awhile and trying to understand MP. Don't know about FVFs. Does ebay charge a fee to send payouts to bank accounts?

I do download reports the first of each month just I don't loose them.

You are welcome.  I am glad you found the link helpful.

eBay does not charge a separate fee to send payouts to your bank account.

Re: Accounting with the new managed payments reports is a NIGHTMARE

I had 16 MP sales in August and spent a couple extra hours doing the bookkeeping. (I'm a retired accountant and I close my books every month). The biggest issue was the "Deposits in Transit" @ month-end between my eBay account and my bank account, and the fees/taxes associated with them. I didn't find much of value in the Reports, so I dealt with it by hand.

Now that I see how the "flow" goes, September should be easier.

But still, I don't like it and am not listing as many items as I used to list.
