iOS app upgrade, older versions no longer supported

If you have been notified to update your eBay app, here are the steps to take to get the latest version onto your device. You need to have iOS 14 or higher to get the latest version from the Apple App Store 

• Open the App Store app on your device 
• Search for eBay app in the App Store 
• Select ‘Update’ button next to the eBay app title

iOS 12 - If your device is running iOS 12 you might be able to install an older version from the App Store 

• Delete the ebay app from the device
• Open the app store app
• Tap account button
• Tap Purchased
• Scroll to the eBay app and tap the cloud and down arrow icon

If your device cannot be upgraded to iOS 12 you can use the Safari browser to access ebay.

You can still use ebay in the safari browser, but the app will not work on these devices.

I use eBay all the time - it is the main way I shop. I own an iPhone 5 which I love but it is on max iOS of 10.3.4 

I am extremely **bleep** off that I will no longer be able to use the app on my phone and it is going to be v inconvenient that you have done this. 

We dont all want the latest gadget - shame on you for supporting the upgrade culture

I understand that technology is always advancing and improving but I don't know why for a site to shop you need that much upgrading!!!! It's working just great and it's more convenient to shop here on an iPad than a small phone. I'm not purchasing a new iPad to have eBay. It's a shame I guess after all these years as a loyal ebayer I won't frequent the site as much because of this. Bad move not everyone has up to date phone or tablets some people have what suits them. Not happy eBay you will loose people and Amazon will flurrish. I use eBay as easy but t have iPhone 5 and not changing it coz you deside got to have up to date phone

This is typical of what is happening with technology and businesses in general. More big businesses are stopping apps working on older systems run on older tablets etc. We all have old tablets and phones that are obsoleted even though they are perfectly serviceable and in many cases more reliable and durable than the new one that is required to allow the new apps to work. 

Having to replace a perfectly useable piece of tech to use an app is not very environmentally friendly. 

Why cant the old app be still left accessible for those with older tech when it still works.? You don't need to update it but still allow those with it to carry on using it.

Not everyone wants/needs/can afford to upgrade every 5 minutes to get the latest gizmos. 

What happened to environmental consideration inducing people to get rid of perfectly serviceable equipment?

Lame,  support should continue for this app, or for IOS 10 on the updated apps.

I am not at all happy with this. I do have a better phone but I like using my old iPhone for speed. This will not update and I find it annoying. I find my new phone difficult to use and I just don't like using it. So won't use it.
