What's new in 5.27.0

We have released the new version 5.27.0. You should see it showing up for upgrade over the next 24 hours. Here are some issues reported via the forums that should be working better this release.

• Fixed an issue with looking at ended items on iPad
• Time remaining could show up incorrect in active selling list

Other enhancements:

• Simplified account recovery
• Accessibility improvements
• Sign in with your Google account
• Sign in with your Facebook account
• Image search improvements
• New way of filtering when browsing
• Easily purchase parts for your car with the garage on the homescreen

 We are still investigating reports that the app may crash when on iOS 11. If you upgrade to iOS 12 the app should not crash.

Another fault with this app, which remains unresolved by the update is on the Purchased Items page. For years this page has matched what you see on the same page as the website. However 3/4 versions ago that changed. Now it shows the normal page but then at the bottom it shows items bought about 3 months ago. These items have been hidden using the website but the app insists on showing them.

I am attaching a photo showing this problem. The bogus entries are listed with a status of “Unavailable”. These items were purchased and paid, delivered and then hidden. The disappear from the listing as expected. After 3 months they then reappear in the app only. Attempting to hide them in the app fails. Attempting to view them fails. They just sit there clogging up the list.

I have the most recent iOS 12 and the app is terrible. I cannot scroll through my listings making the app unusable. If I cannot see my listings, I cannot use the app which makes selling much more difficult. Please revert to the older version until you can fix this problem.

On the seller page in the app the headings for items paid, items awaiting payment and items with bids has disappeared. These were helpful to me. Is this a glitch or were these removed from the app?

When is someone going to get around to fixing the unpaid item problem?

I haven't been able to go on the web site and make changes to my billing and payment methods in almost 4 months now because of this bogus unpaid item claim in the application.

I've responded to emails that wer just plain obtuse telling me to use the web site instead. Hello...the web site wonl't let me edit or remove payment methods because of this bogus unpaid item claim in the application.

What's the hold up? Why the lack of resolution? Why th lack of concern? Why has it been almost 4 months that I've had to deal with this?

At this point, it appears that the only resolution will have to be taken by me. All I can do now is call my banks and card issuers and tell them that ebay app develpers have taken control of my cards and won't let me have themback to remove them.  Then I'll have to be issued new cards and likely will have a fraud alert on my credit report.

Again, what's the problem? What's the hold up?

Why is every technical issue posed to eBay met with” are you using the app or a browser?” Why can’t we used either? eBay is making it more difficult to easily list and sell every time they make an “improvement “ or update. 

If it ain’t broke,don’t fix it!
