OK, a stupid question for you folks. I know absolutley nothing about fashion. If it is clean and fits< I wear it. I am a plus sized old< elderly whatever soon to be &) years old and shock of all shocks< my neurologist says I am fine> (Please pardon the strange things my keyboard is doing, I have to get another today) i am going to get another today.)
So, 3x ish plus size and I have always wanted a poodle skirt like my sister"s of about fifty eight years> But I really don't want to be the butt of a lot of jokes and end up on the people of walmart page>
I am wheelchair bound so I have to get skirts a bit longer just to be covered well.
So what do? i really want the darn thing> So what do you think?

This is the seller that I mentioned:
She is local to me, and I have a blouse on my watch list that I would like to purchase. I still say, wear what you like, and enjoy!!
@albertabrightalberta - I think I came out of the womb with a pair of spike heels LOL! I love them and wore heels all the time when I was working or now if I have someplace to go. My sister never got the hang of wearing heels so you are not alone. I've been doing some "organizing" and found some that I purchased for me that I totally forgot about. I just need a job so that I can get back to the way I was somewhat.
OP, I also wear fur too - only vintage mink coats and jackets. I like some designer handbags too which some may say why that spend $$ for a handbag, my money, my business. I know some don't like that either, but when they start to pay my bills, buy food, etc., then and only then can they tell what I should or should not do. However, knowing me, I would do it anyway just to spite ya 😉
Sending wishes out that you find exactly what you are looking for and if you can, post us some pics when you do

I had my hair purple until last week. I only dyed it back blonde because I'm going somewhere with a pool and the purple was too bleach reactive. I didn't want to leave a trail of purple behind me.
Some of my family members are not supportive of my bright clothes but that's their problem. I figure why wear dark dull colors when there are so many great bright colors out there.
You do you.

You do you.
You are so right! Bright is happy. It's hope. It's a good thing.
When my late mother turned 50, she adopted a motto for herself: The Older, The Bolder. She stopped wearing beige, brown, black. If it was boring, it was not in her closet! When she turned 80, she dressed in hot pink more often than not, and she looked absolutely amazing.
Now, I've never been very bold myself but I know sense when I see it. The only black thing I own is a give-away T-shirt. I never ever wear beige or brown or even navy, and I certainly wouldn't buy anything dull--especially not gray. It's red and turquoise and orange for me.
Mother definitely knew best: The Older, The Bolder.

I'm not sure if you remember me, Alberta, but I used to post as Michelle's sister.

Sing like no one is listening.
Dance like nobody's watching (yes even in your wheelchair) and live like it's heaven on earth.
Just Do YOU!!!
How I live........I look at it this way
Do you pay my bills, do I owe you anything......NOT
Then it's nobody's business how I choose to ENJOY my life!

I absolutely remember you and your michelles_sister ID! You were an advocate for autism research and I remember your siggy line: Always Unique Totally Interesting Sometimes Mysterious. You also sent me some cleaner for our leather furniture.

Yes, that's me! You have a great memory. I remember that signature line but had actually forgotten my exact ID.
I think that it was frontline flea and tick protection that I sent.
i hope you and your family are doing well. It was great to see you here.

Oops, you are right! It was frontline! Sorry about that.
I appreciated it. We have a different dog now. (We had to send the other across the rainbow bridge.) This one uses Nexgard -- much easier to just feed it to him each month.

When I go to the casinos I see many people with bling-bling jackets, hats or shirts. I like Quacker Factory clothing with some cute appliques and bling-bling. Well I am getting my red/white /blue Medicare card soon, so I am entitled to wear whatever I want.

I'm so sorry about your dog. I've lost pets myself and know how hard it is.
My father passed away February 2016 and I reluctantly took in his cat, despite my daughter and I being allergic, but she's part of the family now and we all love her. Well, almost all. The dog could live without her.
That would be great if you could send a link to my other ID. I'm not sure how to find it. These boards are so different than they were back then.

One of the beauties of growing older is doing what you want and not caring what people think. You know right from wrong, right? The rest is just gravy.

You only live once and how are you going to live all this time wanting a certain skirt? You should get the skirt, wear it, rock it, enjoy every minute of wearing it.

Yep, not only the cute Red Hat purple and red set but a great pink and gray set and another. As thought, I've had some highly opinionated individuals who thought it would be fun to mock the old lady. They didn't realize some of old broads travel in packs.
So I embraced my inner poodle and happily wear what I have, though it won't be completely comfortable until th 85 to 90 plus days take a winter's nap to refresh and repair. My poodle skirts, blouses, neck ties and poodle shirt are getting to be a lot more fun to wear. My husband and I get to talk with other seniors and not so seniors and it is FUN. OMG, an old broad saying she's having fun, she must have dementia. Well, not so, says my neurologist - the brain works fine.
I've had more than one person ask how many poodles we have. Ummm...none. I love poodles and knew the Standard breed because a late great uncle used to breed standards for hunting. Those little puffs of fur protect joints that could be harmed my jumping into cold waters and getting a few ducks that their hunter companions shot. Then people wanted smaller and smaller port a poodles and ended up with a dog that is still smart but less robust than the standard size poodles.
So until a standard size poodle comes into our lives, we've got the cats and the cat-dog person who is sleeping on her cushion in a recliner. She usually ends up covered in felines and when one leaves the bundle of sleeping fur, the other cats just rearrange themselves until the other cat returns.
I may not be the standard retired educator but it's a lot of fun being my own self. Poodle skirts and all.
