What do you call this copper kitchen gadget?

Took a look at my big shelves again as I do from time to time to decide which items I can do without as we downsize. The pictured item looks like you'd heat it to warm or melt something inside it. It was left in our home when the prior elderly owners moved in with their son (they left a small amount of stuff and told us to have a garage sale). I don't know if it's old, or something they picked up at Pier One. Don't know what to call it in my listing title. It is 4" tall, 7" from rim to end of handle.

It's a milk steaming or scalding pitcher.

I'd hazard a guess that it's a gravy boat.

The more things I can call it in my title, the better! Got 200 free listings right on top of 100 that ended Monday. My non-TRS account hasn't been given anything so far this month. Let's me throw new stuff up as 10 day auctions and then save my 50 regular listings to shift them to fixed price if there is no auction interest.

Re: What do you call this copper kitchen gadget?

That's great, and I hope you sell it all, fast!  Best of luck to you, pvcliff.

The size made me think of a butter melter, like someone might use if they pop the old fashioned way.  That's how I found that listing.  I had put in copper gravy boat previously, and it showed me every type of gravy boat you can imagine, silver, china, etc.  when I specifically asked for copper.

@pvcliff

I don't know if you want to use their exact title, that might be plagiarism, and I wouldn't want you to get into trouble.

Also I am not sure about that catch pot in there.  I think they meant cachepot, not catch pot.

Once I have time to research the terms folks have suggested to see what comes up, I'll choose my own title. Tomorrow I'm having a tooth pulled so I expect to be wallowing in my misery eating jello and yogurt for a day or two before getting back to my computer. Cliff is making pork chops with sticky onions for our pre-Valentine dinner tonight since I'll be laid up tomorrow.

Re: What do you call this copper kitchen gadget?

It is a Turkish coffee pot.  It is not anything else, although I suppose it could be put to other purposes.  If you're looking for other keywords, why not use those related to the actual item, such as cezve, the Turkish word for it, or briki, the Greek word for it which is often used in the U.S.

Hope the dental work goes well.

That makes me feel better~that you will choose your own title.  I wouldn't want that other person to maybe see yours and land on you or something.  You just never know.

That's no fun, getting a tooth pulled so you are allowed to wallow if you want to!

Jello and yogurt are good.  So is Cliff for making you a pre Valentine dinner but you deserve it since you are due to get that tooth pulled tomorrow!  I hope you both enjoy your dinner!  Take it easy for awhile~rest up~a tooth pulled is a good reason to do that.  Take care and good luck.
