Your seller is full of baloney. Of course your seller accepts credit and debit cards. Click the buy now button, or the pay now link on your purchase page. Or did they claim that you cancelled the order?

It is a seller's right not to accept credit/debit cards.
Payment methods are established by the seller when they list the item--long before the end of an auction. They cannot change the accepted payment methods after the auction is over. It has nothing to do with the price they received for the item.
You may pay through PayPal. Some sellers also accept Google Pay or Apple Pay.

Buyers can pay directly with a credit or debit card. Buyers don't need Paypal at all. I bypass Paypal all the time.

eBay says sellers have to accept credit cards (with a few category-type exceptions). Either through PayPal or Managed Payments.

any seller can accept cards through Paypal or Managed payments. As far as taking cards directly only sellers with a merchant account with a credit card processor can take cards directly.

Even if you want to pay with credit card which eBay does take you will get better buyer protection from PayPal just link the credit card to your PayPal wallet. When you want to use the credit card on the PayPal wallet set the preference to use the card as the payment source. Then pay the seller and get you item.

Precisely what does the payment & shipping tab of the listing say?
