I have items in my cart that I want to purchase however there is one item in my cart that I do not want to purchase, I click on the remove link of that item and nothing happens. I am so frustrated that I tried to remove any items from my cart and I can not remove any items from my cart. I use a laptop with windows 8.1. I do not use any mobile devices to do any transactions of any type. If I cant get this resolved soon I may not be able to use Ebay again, I sure hope someone can help me with this. Thank you.

I think you can reload page and log in again. If that situation still happens, you can choose Pay only this seller to purchase what you want.

If the item is in your cart because you won the item or clicked on Buy It Now and committed to the purchase, the item cannot be removed.
To remove an item that you placed in your cart by clicking on "add to cart", if using the app, simply swipe from right to left.

You do not have to use the cart to pay for items. You can save them to your watch list, which can be customized into shorter lists. When you are ready to buy and pay more than one seller at a time you can add the items to the cart and pay for them. If you want to buy multiple items from a single seller you can commit to buy them. They will appear in one box on your purchase history and you can request a total from the seller.
Leaving items in your cart for extended periods can cause them to get stuck. It also increases the chance of the seller running out of them before you pay.

Hey, I saw this is an old post, but having experienced the same from time to time, just thought I would mention the work around to remove items from your cart as ebay customer support wont remove them for you. I think it's limited to just the website version of ebay not the app.
If you hover your mouse over the shopping cart icon on the main screen, any items in your cart will appear in the drop down list below it. Click the little rubbish bin icon next to the ones you don't want. Job done.
I think it's due to poor programming by ebay and not fully testing changes across platforms, or they have implemented more trackers (like third party) for those links (and go to check out button) to be enabled. If you inspect the source under those buttons, it has "fake-link" as the class, so I am thinking that's pretty telling lol.
