Re: is it OK to give a BIG FAT NEG

Many sellers have their products advertised on multiple  venues. I don't see the point of leaving a negative if the item you received was what you ordered.

Did it come with a gift receipt? If so then yes, if not, be aware that many sellers house their goods at Amazon warehouses.

Re: is it OK to give a BIG FAT NEG

If the seller had the shipping address something different than from where it's shipping from then a neg would be appropriate.

Bear in mind that a neg will look just as bad, maybe worse, on your profile than it will on the seller's.

You purchased a particular item & If the item is as described, that's what should really matter to you as the buyer.

If it came with a gift reciept in the box Yes gets a big neg and reported to Amazon. Amazon will boot the seller as well

Re: is it OK to give a BIG FAT NEG

I understand your frustration.

Some people don’t buy from Amazon or Walmart or... and it is not right to be “tricked”

this way.

Some sellers have inventory stored at Amazon and are approved drop shippers and some don’t.

If it came with a gift receipt then the seller used their Amazon account to ship to you and this is not ok...

Sellers also reuse boxes. Could this have been a reused Amazon box?

Re: is it OK to give a BIG FAT NEG

I wouldn't have a problem with it if the seller said in his listing they are drop shipping and where the item is drop shipping from . Quite often I see them list the item as located at there home town only to be ship from across the country. That's deceptive ...I don't do that when I sell and don't expect others to do that either.

Re: is it OK to give a BIG FAT NEG

I've read posts on these boards in which a seller for whatever reason was unable to send the item they had just sold.  Maybe they broke it or spilled something on it or just couldn't find it.  Occasionally the seller decided to buy one and have it shipped directly to their buyer.  Would that conscientious seller deserve a neg?

I don't know what happened in this case, but I don't think you do, either.

Re: is it OK to give a BIG FAT NEG

Yes. As a seller I do not get to tell my buyer what matters. I give them the facts and let them decide, for themselves, what they want in life.

Too many people nowadays think they make decisions for others.

This is about as silly as neging someone because the box it came in is torn. If you got what was described, thank them and move on.

Re: is it OK to give a BIG FAT NEG

If this was retail arbitrage (selling here and fulfilling from elsewhere) then it is a violation of eBay dropshipping rules and can be reported to eBay.

if it had a gift receipt and prime tape it is probably a violation of the prime agreement and can be reported to amazon
