Problem with shipping price display

For some reason ebay decided to auto mark my last post as spam so here is a repost

Hi, so i was looking to buy an soundtrack CD shipped from japan, when searching in search results it shows FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING but when i click on it it shows that shipping for this 40$ music cd is 9800$ which is insane but when i change shipping to germany then it correctly shows that shipping is free

Even when sendig message to seller or putting item to watch list it shows that shipping to croatia using economy shipping is 0.00$ but only when i open the listing or when i click to purcashe it shows apperently glitched price

Germany and Croatia are both parts of europe, how can shipping be free for germany but show that its 9800$ for croatia for a simpe music CD

Can someone help me with this, it seems to be a glitch, i would understand if shipping cost a bit more to croatia compared to germany but 9800$ for simple small package with CD seems like it surely is a glitch

Contact the seller and inquire about how the shipping is set up in the listing. Perhaps the seller made an error during the shipping set up.

I sent the message to the seller and i am currently waiting for reply but in the meantime i wanted to ask how is it possible that when i click contact seller under shipping it clearly says shipping to croatia using eceonomy shipping 0.00$ while when i open the lisiting economy dissapears and only standard is left showing 9800$, i have a feeling that this might be bug on ebay side not the sellers

Unfortunaltey moderators removed my screenshots showing exactly what was happening for "shaming" even tough i literally didnt shame anyone and just showed a screenshot of what looks to be a bug

Is it okay if i post screenshot again but this time with sellers name, lisiting number, etc. censored?

Yes.  Just block out the seller's ID and item number.

I looked at the screenshots before they were removed and saw exactly what you've described.

I think the seller is the best one to explain the shipping discrepancies after reviewing their own listing.

Did this transaction take place on ebay.com--the site for U.S. transactions? Or was it a site for Japan? Or Germany or elsewhere in Europe? If it took place on an eBay platform other than ebay.com, you could also post your situation on the discussion boards for the platform on which the transaction actually took place.

I wouldn't repost the screenshots if I were you. There were too many ways to identify the seller, which is against community policy.

Transaction did not take place as i didnt buy it yet, i wanted to buy it but obviously i cant buy something that has shipping set to 9800USD, i just posted it here because i tought that its some sort of bug or glitch on ebay, i have contacted seller to ask if this is correct shipping price or was it a mistake and if it was mistake if they could fix it, i will update here once seller tells me if this is an error on his part

For germany there are two shipping options, one is free and other is around 20$ while for croatia it doesnt show free shipping option until i click contact seller there it says there is 0.00$ economy but listing only has one option shown and that 9800$ (no its not 98.00 its really 9800) so i assume that its either bug on ebay or seller maybe set up listing wrong, after all i dont remember ever seeing shipping proce being in the range of thousands of dollars for a music cd so its probably a mistake, if anaything shipping is probably closer to the one offered for germany

anyway, thanks for the info and if there are any updates to this i will let you know 🙂

Thanks for the info, in future if i need to post any screenshots i will block out all info that could reveal who the seller is

Either contact the buyer or contact eBay it might be seller mistake OR eBay bug.

I am the buyer (i mean i did not buy it yet but would like to if the problem with shipping price is fixed, its probably either bug on ebays side or maybe even seller entered wrong value for shipping)
