ebay china shipping policy

Having issues with sellers from China recently. Ebay gives then it seems a month to ship the item. Not for me to receive the item but it allows them weeks and weeks to get the item shipped. The policy for a US seller is i think 3 business days or you'll get dinged.  I bought an item on Jan 22 from a China seller. It still says Awaiting Shipment . The seller still hasn't even shipped the item yet. I have no recourse on this. I can file a non received item next month for it.  Ridiculous.  Ebay needs to give China sellers the same window to ship the item as a US seller

Check the handling time listed within the shipping details of the listing. I thought handling times were up to 30 days (selected by seller) but it may have been extended to more than that. This is not a new thing. 

From one of your last threads, i thought you stopped searching/purchasing items outside of the USA?

They do.

A seller can have a handling time from same day shipping to 30 days.

I have a 5 day handling time, to discourage high maintenance buyers. I usually ship same day or next day.

I do not buy on Ebay from Chinese sellers. Most of the items are available for less on Temu. And they arrive before many Ebay sellers, in the US or China ship.

All sellers listing on .com can choose a handling time as short as same day, or as long as 40 business days (approx 2 mos).

Does not matter what the status is. All that matters for the buyer is whether or not the item arrives by the estimated delivery date.

Why do buyers get so hung up on when an item ships? It doesn't matter.

If the estimated delivery window is, for example, March 1 - March 10 and you ordered on Jan 10 - why does it make any difference at all if:

- Seller ships on Jan 11 and item doesn't arrive until March 10, sitting in transit all that time OR

- Seller ships on March 9 and item arrives on March 10

It's the same outcome either way. Look at the estimated delivery window before you purchase and decide if you're okay with it. Also keep in mind it's just an estimate, not a guarantee @bqbguitar .

i've confirmed with the seller the item hasn't shipped yet. not a good experience. why does ebay let a seller sit for a month before the item ships?

You have one day past the Ebay Estimated Delivery Date to open an Item Not Received claim. Have you done that yet?

Better question: why are you buying items with estimated delivery dates that are longer than you find acceptable @bqbguitar ?

It does not matter when the seller ships if the item arrives within or close to the estimated delivery date.

never have these issues with aliexpress. items are trackable usually the next day.  not buying from here anymore for china stuff

Making a purchase from someone in China who sells 26,000 items and has a lot of bad feedbacks...what would one expect?

I have a regular seller I win auctions from someone in Macao, China...items usually arrive in less than 2 weeks with tracking...seller has no negative feedbacks and doesn't have thousands of items for sale.

Need to be picky who you purchase from in China.

@bqbguitar how many 'handling' days do they show on the listing (click 'shipping' to see/read). Some people have many days before they even ship, even US sellers.

If they have a habit of shipping late, Ebay does deal with them.

If it's the one they left negative feedback for, I think it said 15 days.
