Why is Ebay preventing me from leaving feedback on my recent purchase experience? I made a purchase recently which the seller shipped to an incorrect address. The seller refuses to ship a replacement to the correct address or refund the cost of the purchase. Ebay is supporting the seller's error. I feel other buyers should be made aware the character of this seller and it seems that Ebay is intentionally preventing this information from being shared.

ebay seems to remove negative feedback on a whim now. that's why 100% positives are not really what they seem to be. Most of them have a ton of negatives that they just asked ebay to remove and they willy nilly did it since ebay customer support is abysmal and just a bunch of low paid teenagers I think.

No they don't. Sellers can tell you that for sure. The feedback has to break a feedback rule to get removed or something like the buyer requested a cancellation, the seller honored it, then the buyer leaves the seller negative feedback, that can be removed. There are a few other specific situations where it can be removed.

How do you know the seller shipped to the incorrect address? Do you know the address where it went?
Or did you file an "item not received" claim and the seller provided a tracking number showing the item was delivered to the address to which he shipped? What does this seller's feedback look like? Does it look like there has been a problem with him shipping packages? Is there a chance a porch pirate took the package after it was delivered to you?
Sellers ship to the buyer's address on file with eBay. Is there a chance you have moved and not updated your ship-to address?
@mam98031 wrote: The highlighted statement is not correct. The buyer has the ability to select or enter a ship to address when they purchase an item. It will default to the address the buyer has set up for their primary ship to address, but the buyer is in full control of the address when they are in the Payment Process.

I thought it used to be that a seller could not ship to an address unless it was on file either as a primary or as an alternate. If this was changed, I was not aware of it. In my previous post, I was trying to establish how the OP "knows" the package was sent to the wrong address. OP has not returned to answer any of the questions. Unless this is one of those fake address scams, the address had to come from somewhere. And we still don't know if it was a fake address scam or not.

Next time you go to purchase something on Ebay, you should notice you have the right to change the default ship to address if you so need to. I've done it many times over the years when I purchased something I needed to have shipped to a kid in college or maybe to my mom.
The requirement for sellers is to ship to the address the buyer gives you when they pay for an item. That is what will show up on the order awaiting to be shipped.
Sellers have never been required to ship to a Primary ship to address or an alternative ship to address. However, it is easier for buyers if they have an alternative address they need to ship to from time to time is to enter it in their Site Preferences as an alternative ship to address, but it isn't require.
