Hi all!
So I recently submitted an NAD claim for a camera I purchased. Long story short the shipper sent a completely different camera, gave a long winded excuse and gave off a general vibe of shadiness. To avoid any extra grief I submitted the NAD claim which he accepted. PayPal and eBay have already confirmed the return tho it hasn’t showed up in my account.
What I’m concerned about is that when he accepted the return eBay notified me that the shipper told them he cannot provide a return label. And I haven’t had good communication from
his part on this since.
I know that I can print a label myself and send him the package with the deliver charge to be paid on collection by him. But I feel like I can’t trust him so I don’t want to be responsible for shipping (either because he may refuse to accept the package due to the charges, or he would claim to eBay that I did not send it at all). On the other hand what should I do if no return label is ever provided? Keep the camera? Or is there some way which this can be solved through eBay via claims? Just want to understand if there are any further financial risks for me that I should be careful of if the seller tries to pull something else.
thanks a lot for any advice you can give 😃

If I were you I would go to eBay help and chat and request a callback. I am guessing NAD is "Not As Described"... so you should get a label. I would not purchase a label. It is clearly the sellers mistake. eBay should help you with this. Don't take matters into your own hands or you might end up with no refund.

Thanks! So will the money not enter back into my account until the entire matter is resolved and the shipper confirms he’s received the camera?
I can already see in my PayPal that there is a credit to my account there so I assume it should come into my bank next week.
I’ll try and work it out with eBay like you said, because I cannot see any options in the not as described claim/return to print a label through eBay.
thanks again!

If the seller is in another country and cannot provide a label, they are supposed to SEND MONEY to you to fund the return. You can look up on USPS and see how much it would cost to return the parcel with delivery confirmation (or signature confirmation if over $750) and ask the seller to send that amount via PayPal. OR you can contact customer service and tell them the seller has not provided funds to return.
DO NOT SHIP IT BACK YOURSELF. If you do, nobody will reimburse you, and you will have issue if the seller refuses to pick up the parcel so it is appropriately "delivered".

Thanks! I wouldn’t dare to ship it myself, for the exact reason you mention. I was afraid of getting put on the hook somehow if the 30 day return period runs out (luckily there’s still plenty of time left).
The shipment would go to another country but within the EU so no crazy shipping costs or anything like that.

Sorry I did not check to see if you are in the US. Though the policies and procedures are often the same for other eBay sites, they also may have some special differences as well. Please ask on the discussion boards related to the site on which you originally purchased just in case. Good luck to you!
