I was looking for some cheap AV Cables, one seller was selling them for $5 Free shipping, other seller was selling it for $1 +$4 shipping, so I end up buy the $1 cable save little on the tax money. I ended paying exact amount money I would have been paying for the $5 cable.
I noticed eBay charged near 40 cents on the $4 shipping, this has to be against the law, congress needs to know this. This is illegal to charge shipping tax, never heard of shipping tax.

Many States charge sales tax on shipping. I don’t know why you think it would be illegal? Whose laws? It makes sense to me that you would pay the same tax for the same item with the same total cost.

As another has stated, some states consider shipping as a taxable service. Apparently, your state does.

There are only four states, I believe, that do not charge their residents sales/use tax. Of the states that do, I believe, about 21 consider shipping to be taxable. You might want to check with your state's department of revenue or whatever you state calls its taxing agency to verify your state's position on the subject.
By the way, I'm not employed by eBay. (Frankly, they couldn't pay me enough.)
Oh! Do you really need to raise your voice by typing in all caps? You asked what was up with you being charged sales tax on shipping and we tried to give you the answer. If you do not like the answers you received, perhaps you should consider running for a position in your state's legislature and attempt to get a law passed to exempt shipping from being taxed by your state.

Very legal, I've been paying taxes on shipping from many venues for years.
But anyway - you may have overlooked the latest tax announcement...

Don't be that guy.
My state charges tax on all services, like hair cuts, lawn mowing, garbage hauling, etc. Shipping is a service, so it is taxed, too.

Then stop yelling about how the law is wrong.

Not sure someone would come on a volunteer community board made up of ebay members and then complain about the answers and yell at them .
You should be asking someone of authority like your state politicians for these answers.
