Recently I bought two "Stripe Tassel Curtain Modern Living Room Bedroom Cotton Curtain". The photos in the listing are very beautiful in Pink, Pale Pink and Off White.
What I actually received are these in colors of pink/taupe, blue and grey:
Seller voluntarily offered a $5 partial refund on a $91.05 purchase. We do not want any partial refund because we cannot use them or sell them. They are too ugly.
My first international return in 20 years. I have very few returns because I usually sell the items of no use to me instead of returning. But these I have no confidence to sell. The total cost is $91.05. The return shipping to China will be $80.40 priority mail. It is about 5lbs.
Has anyone returned any package safely to China? What could happen? I already started a return request and seller still keep offering partial refund which I have no interest.

Also there are about a dozen sellers selling the same window curtains on eBay. All show the same photos.
You are dealing either with dropshipping sellers who have the same supplier or with a single seller with multiple accounts.
When you run into a dropshipper, the seller has never seen or touched the product. Everything is done by the supplier except finding a customer.
So if you want to buy something with multiple sellers and the same photos and descriptions, at least go for the seller based in the USA since that is where you would be returning an unwanted product.

Another photo from the original listing. I only see Pink, Pale pink and off white. I don't see anything else.

Are you aware that, if you open an item not as described case, the price of return shipping is born by the seller? Since your seller is in China and you are not, he will be unable to send you a prepaid return shipping label, but will be required to reimburse you in advance if he wants his merchandise back.

Don't feel too bad. Just remember the controversy over the black/blue vs. white/gold dress ... which I saw/see as light-blue/dark bronze:

There is no reason to post more photos. How about taking my suggestion about opening an item not as described case?

When looking at the two photos, they appear to me to be the same colors BUT the photo on the left shows the curtains to be translucent, and the photo on the right does not demonstrate that aspect of the fabric.
If you have a beef, it might be that the description did not indicate the fabric was translucent.
I would not buy a decorative item like this which shipped from any foreign country. I'd find the same item which is being filled from a fulfillment house in the US, even if it cost a few bucks more. Many of these commodity Chinese products are offered from US fulfillment houses for Chinese sellers.

It's wrong to suggest to file not as described when color is the problem. There used to be a link that said it's not as described if you ordered red and received blue but it's as described if the colors are a little off but in the same family like if you ordered fuchsia and you received hot pink. It comments about colors viewed on a monitor, blah, blah, blah.
It appears what you got are the curtains in the seller's picture.
I conclude it's buyer's remorse.
Too bad you were told to file a not as described case because you think the curtains are UGLY. That's not liking the curtains after you got them, or changing your mind. Not the seller's fault. I don't think they misrepresented the curtains.
Shipping costs to return to China with tracking is over $60 so the seller will be forced to pay you that to return it for a refund, or they'll be FORCED to refund and let you keep the curtains that actually match the seller's description!
Way to go to the posters here that have encouraged the OP to file the wrong case and screw the seller.

The items are from China directly. I have no idea if drop shipping can be international as well. The local ones work out well for us. Usually very fast, like next day. So, no complaint here. This one took at least a week to ship. Then about 10 days to arrive. If it were not difficult to buy this specific pattern locally, I would not chance with Chinese sellers with anything more than $50. Local stores are closing. Other online venue either charge over $250 for similar drape or simply have no inventory of this type of retro pattern.
The seller probably never saw or touched the items. Then they would be swamped with returns.
Moved to a new place. My windows are still bare. Some furniture is being scorched in the hot afternoon sun. What a bummer!

Thank you for specifying that the seller are required to reimburse me in advance for the shipping fee. This is what I need to know. I don't want to lose $80 on top of $91 if they claim they never receive the return package.
It seems there is no step in the return request for seller to reimburse in advance.

Love your house! Must be tons of fun. My house is also a dog house. My husband is a big pup. We have a little 10lb fluffy Pomeranian. Smart and sweet as hell. I am the Mama pup. I protect them.
I watched the youtube. I say white and gold.

When I saw the blue/green and grey, I didn't open any further.
I'd rather buy everything locally or made in USA, but as I said earlier It is not easily available here even when you are willing to pay more. $200 more is not a few bucks more. Similar items are $268 a piece on itsy bitsy.

The colors are not in the same family. Pale pink and blue/green/sage/seafoam are definitely not in the same family.

This same thing happened to me once with a skirt that I ordered.... it took months arrived back in china (It was almost the exact same scenario of cost of item vs cost of return).... AND it ended up that the address apparently wasn't valid, so the item was returned to me undelivered, and yet I still had to pay the return cost, etc.... I complained to Paypal (who was the processor at the time), and they gave me a little bit of a refund (about 1/2 of what I was out)... and I learned that day, never ever trust ordering items from China when they say "buyer" must pay return shipping.... Unless it is an item that only costs a dollar or two, I don't do it. I'll pay the dollar or two extra to buy from a seller here in the united states, and let them eat the losses. You CAN file an "Item not a described" case, as the item is CLEARLY looks as not as described because the stripes appear to be going the other direction (they look like they are horizontal and not verticle like the first image, and they will have to pay for the return shipping, or simply refund you the entire amount. I recommend that you take that route, and do not let them manipulate you into sending back on your dime.... It never works out well. Not ever. If you already started a return...> What did you mark as your reason for the return???

I wasn't encouraging it, but from what I understood, OP had already filed the INAD and we know it's pretty much automatic from there.
As I said, I see the same colors. If OP hung the curtains and let strong sunlight show though them, I think they'd look about the same as in the listing photo. But I thought the INAD has already been opened and we know where it goes from there.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I filed "not as described" even before I started this thread. Right now this seller has approved the return, and we are at the stage to get them reimburse me the shipping fee in advance. How do I compel them to reimburse me timely? They are trying to persuade to take partial refund. I offered my email address to pay me via PayPal. That's what I read somewhere. (Thank you whoever posted this info!!)
I need to go back to read the eBay money back policy book.
