Hi I purchased an item and USPS today said the package was delivered. I have cam footage showing my mail man dropping off my mail and an amazon package but not this item. I've tried contacting the seller who just told me to contact the post office who in turn told me to contact the seller. When I notify the seller he just say something along the lines of its my problem because the tracking show it is delivered. While telling me to go to the post office to show them the video....
I really don't want to go to the post office to show them a video. The line is extremely long and I have classes and work during those times.
So I am a bit confused on what to do next.....

It's out of the seller's hands. You have to take it up with the post office. That is one hole in the buyer protection plan a package can fall through.

This is apparently a Post Office error, since the most likely source of this mixup is that your carrier scanned your package while dropping it off at somebody else's house. Most scanners nowadays have built-in GPS which would show exactly where he was when he scanned the package. But finding that out would require a trip to the PO with your tracking number in hand. Have you checked with the neighbors?

So I should call my bank for a chargeback and give my bank the video evidence if eBay is unable to take care of the issue for me? Thats what the customer service told me to do a few minutes ago.

I've gone on the USPS website before and opened an inquiry about a package scanned as delivered. Not only did I receive a phone call from the delivering Post Office all the way across country, but a follow up email as well... less than 6 hours after opening the claim. It showed (down to the gps 'ping') the exact address the package was delivered to. Then, it was just a matter of my buyer asking a neighbor.
Sellers are only held to the standard of the USPS delivery notice, not cam footage. Sorry this happened to you.

No. It's not the sellers fault. The seller would be out the item cost PLUS $20 if you the charge back. Chances are you would lose because the seller can prove he shipped to your address

Well since I sent that original message to the seller asking for help the seller has been nothing but aggressive. Even blaming the post office mistakes on Biden! The post office website missing mail link does not seem to work. I called my bank and they said if I can provide evidence with my surveillance cameras then I will have a case. And I will gladly give the bank footage for the entire day. This will of course be the last resort if I cannot get the post office to respond back.
Should also note delivery time on the tracking was 2 hours off from my mailman at my door. During that recorded time there was no one at my door or garage area.

The missing mail is not working when I go to the website. Just directs me to the main page.

Sounding more and more like a mis-delivery somewhere else along his route. I have gotten mail for strangers who live on a street with a name similar to the street that I live on.

The missing mail reporting has been down for at least 2 days, not sure why, used it last week

There is a house 2 streets from me we have somewhat identical address. I asked the owners and they did not get my package. I had the post office accidentally give them my mail and packages to that location before in the past. But that was a while back. And the owners confirmed they did not get it.

I’m surprised that Ebay didn’t just refund all of your money to you after my experience.
I sold a rare $1000 hot wheel to a guy who claimed it was damaged when it arrived. He sent it to an old address (eBay has five addresses to fill out, who knew). Anyways, the buyer was refunded the second that the package turned around and went back to him because tracking said it got to my city. It actually shows that it was delivered back to him. Now the guy has my rare hot wheel and the $1000 and since I didn’t think there I only one chance to correct the problem, I disputed it the second I saw the refund and I didn’t have the tracking number or car.
On top of that since he hasn’t returned the car, I don’t even get to submit my damage insurance to USPS. They are going to screw me out of a $1040 because one of my addresses was old? It really blows my mind.

What happens if the post office damages it during shipment?
Buyer or seller responsible?
Who needs to take out the insurance? Can the buyer bring it in to get inspected or does it need to be shipped back and the seller brings it in?
