TO BUYERS OF ARMOR MADE IN INDIA

I love medieval armor, hav some quality, expensive pieces, but also own affordable items that were made in India, which I enjoy as display pieces. For those of you who don't know this though, some sellers use photos of helmets, etc. that were taken from other websites. They do NOT show the item that you will get. Comments left for these sellers say exactly that, "not as shown".

Do a little sleuthing. If you notice for example that the same photo is used by several sellers, there's a good chance that what it shows is not their work. Save the photo to your desktop, then use it in a Google image search. You'll often find the original website that it was taken from, revealing that the photo of the Indian-made $200 helmet is actually that of a $2,000 helmet made in Poland or the US. Some of the stolen photos will even have the name of the actual maker on them! You'll see (these are fake names) "O'Brien Armory" or "Kawolski Brothers Amourers". In some cases, what is shown is in a museum! Sorry, but you are NOT going to get a beautifully chased and engraved copy of suit of armor that was made for the Emperor Maximilian I for $500!

I've reported these appropriated photos to the actual makers a couple of times and they acknowledge that its a problem which eBay can't or wont address. You have to advocate for yourself buyers, do some research.

If you do a photo search and find he photos posted by a seller are not of the item they have listed, use the Report Item button on the listing page. I believe thre is a place to leave comments when you do that, so fill it in saying the photos are not of the actual item being sold they are of a much more expensive piece on another site.

These days you have to expect the Indian sellers on this site learned about selling from the chinese ones.

     Although I do appreciate the time you took to inform us about this, I don't think that medieval armory is on the minds of most, unless this will become required by the government to wear instead of masks!

One should be careful about buying anything from India, the are challenging China's claim to "Counterfeit Capital of the world".

Purchased 2 half armors from an Indian seller, both were nothing like the photos.

I sent them back for a refund, a lot of extra work !!!!

Be very careful.

Medieval armour is actually popular among combat groups, SCA, collectors, etc. It's been popular in Europe for years. Locally we have groups who work with armour in both display and combat. Obtaining these pieces reasonably leads a lot of people to try India and Pakistan, which in fact have excellent metalworkers, but also a lot of fakes.

I purchased several swords from Pakistan with mixed results.
