Sponsored listings are no longer marked "sponsored". Pretty shady, eBay.

Just noticed that those annoying "sponsored" listings are no longer marked "sponsored". First, they made the word extremely tiny and now they've removed it completely. Pretty shady tactics, eBay. What really annoys me is the fact that they don't show the added shipping charge in sponsored listings. They do that to try and give sponsored listings an advantage. Not right. One of the main reasons I never click on them and will never buy from any seller with sponsored listings.

Um, how would you know not to click on them @freebirdtim if those are no longer marked "sponsored"?

They're always the last two on the page and eBay hides the shipping cost on them.

Yes, promoted listings, but they put a tiny "sponsored" word under the listing. Easy to spot, since they hide the shipping cost on them. I just checked a few and now the word is back, so maybe a temporary glitch.

Promoted listings show up a sponsored listings on ebay.

@freebirdtim can you give more information on this? How do you know they are sponsored if they don't say sponsored? Are you talking about in search or on the view item page? What browser are you using or are you looking in the app?

For what it's worth - I still see the word sponsored on PL ads in search and some of them do show shipping.

Must be your computer, your provider, your software (go an ad blocker on?)

1st- sponsored DO show

2nd- shipping costs on sponsored DO show

3rd- sponsored are NOT The last 2 on a page, they would be the first on the page or they wouldn't be sponsored.

My sponsored listings are always the last two in the search results. For example, when I search for "1878cc dime", I get two sponsored listings as the last two results. And no, shipping charges never show up on the sponsored listings in my search results. I am seeing the extremely tiny "sponsored" word now, so maybe it was a temporary glitch.

Here's my search results for "2023 Hallmark". The sponsored listings are at the bottom of the page and the shipping charge is hidden.

@freebirdtim just to confirm, is that search with "Best Match" sort or did you change it to one of the other sort options?

I do not see what you are talking about with Best Match, but was able to replicate it when switching to lowest price first.

It's interesting - not only does it not show the shipping for the sponsored ones, but it also doesn't show the seller name, even though I have it in my settings to do so and you can see it does it for the non-sponsored.

I usually do a search for "ending soonest" or "newly listed". Both have the same result. No shipping charge shown and they're at the bottom of the page.

All the listings I'm finding right now (random searches with pages and pages of results) show as sponsored, including my own that are not promoted.  Actually the word  "Sponsored" is backwards at the moment.

@loupgaroubooks what browser are you using or is this in the app? What was your search term? Best match sort or a different sort option? Can you post a screenshot please?

I've been searching on both Firefox and Chrome throughout the day today both logged in and incognito and sponsored Promoted Listings are displaying normally.
