Seller won't ship item

Won an auction on the 24th of Feb. Paid immediately....still " awaiting shipment" status. I messaged 2 days ago about a tracking number, and if it had been shipped. As of today, no response, no shipping. I wan't my item !! Suggestions??

Did you notice the sellers handling time?

If they have a 5 day handling time, they have until today to get it shipped.

Instead of messaging the seller, buyers can look in their Purchase History for details such as estimated date of delivery and tracking information. Shipping date doesn't matter.

Besides checking your order details, try checking the seller's feedback profile page. It is possible that they are a new seller or one who has not sold anything in over a year. They could have a fair number of feedback and a 100% rating but all for buying, at least in the last 12 months.

 

If your seller is new/returning, they may not know about the 21 day hold ebay places on new or returning sellers first few payments, and how to deal with it. On their account the payment status is marked as Pending, and that is why they haven't shipped or aren't responding to your messages. They may even think your messages are an attempt to scam them somehow.

 

If you find the the seller is new or returning, try messaging them again and say if they haven't shipped because of the Pending status of your payment, to do a google search for "Payments on hold - ebay" if they do that they will get the info they need to ship the item and complete the transaction.

What was the last estimated delivery date you saw in the listing when you made your purchase?

If that date has passed by more than a day, you can open an item not received case with eBay and have 30 days after that date to do so.

If that date has not yet passed, you need to just sit back and await the arrival of the item you want.  There is nothing you can do until then.

You can file an item not received case one day past the last given delivery date.  However you have 30 days to file it.  Don't wait until the last day to be safe.  You do want to allow the five days to void the shipping label to close however.  Fedex does not do that but the other shippers do.   Tough love as it's called.

 

Is it a new seller?  If so I would give them a little extra time.  Some take their first jump before learning how to put on their parachute.   I try to help new sellers but some just slink off into the night.

In my own experience, as an example,  I have two international orders... One placed on 10 JAN and one on 9 FEB. Both sellers had a 3- day handling period. As of 2 MAR BOTH orders have not "shipped" past the status "Tracking Number Provided".  So....you can see I've been waiting for a while. But there is nothing that can be done until either order reaches one day beyond the final EDDs of the orders.

 

The first order's final EDD is 5 march, and although I have waited 2 months for an order that clearly isn't going to ever be shipped, I can do nothing until 6 MAR. Likewise, waited a month for order number 2, that also clearly isn't getting shipped, but has a final EDD of 2 MAR, and you can sure bet I'm pulling the plug in that one ASAP.  And the other soon after. 

 

But, as you can see and as others have stated, you aren't going to be allowed to do anything until the clock runs out on your order.  When placing orders, it is important to check the EDD before you purchase, because if the seller renegs on your purchase, you can end up waiting a very long time.
