I have made a mistake. I've bought a record from the seller and mistakenly returned wrong item to the seller. after I found out my mistake I have closed the dispute and asked the seller to send wrong item back to me. I have apologised several times for my mistake. but the seller answered that my response to him was **bleep**ty and arrogant and refused to returned my record. I know that the whole situation was my fault but still not to return someone's thing I'd call a theft.

Your response? What does he mean exactly? Your response to what? How many messages have you sent to the buyer? It's difficult to know without seeing all of your communication with this seller.

the only thing you can do here really is ask ebay to step in, they can see all the mails you exchanged with the seller. Likely the seller feels that he is being taken for but you did explain you mailed him and closed the dispute.
However, shouldn't mention other members names on community, could explain your situation without that tid bit.

Did you offer to send them the money to return the album? I can't even imagine how this mistake would have happened. Were you returning purchases to different sellers?

What kind of response did you give him? How much did your response affect him? You can not give an answer without a proper understanding of this .Give more information if you can. I will support you as much as I can.

Did you send money to pay for the shipping of the item you want back? Did you ship back the original item? Did you live positive feedback? These 3 things might edge him to retrun your record.
Returns are a hassel for sellers. International returns are a headache. What reason did you give for the initial return? Were you making him pay the shipping? It may not be the right thing for him to keep the record but it is not theft.

You would have to talk to ebay about it, but ebay can't force the seller to return the item though..

I'm guessing since you closed the return you did not get a refund for the item you were supposed to send back?

Since you closed the dispute don't waste your time with eBay. They can't make the seller return it.
Just curious but why were you returning an album? Already that makes the seller mad at you when a buyer opens a case. In case you didn't know that.
When did you realize you returned the wrong item? If it was before delivery you could've used USPS Package Intercept.
Did you return their item and send them a return label or return shipping money before you tried negotiating for them to return the item you sent back by mistake? If you insinuated to them it's theft what they're doing no wonder they think that's arrogant of you. You sending it to them and then saying it's theft is pretty cheeky if you ask me.

Actually, I believe the OP is the buyer. How the OP returned the wrong item is what interests me.

My advice would be to pay closer attention to what you're doing and perhaps you wouldn't have to make so many bid retractions (64 in a 12 month period seems excessive to me) and maybe you would not have sent the wrong item back to the seller.
Why did you return it in the first place? Was it because you filed a return request through the MBG?
