Seller never shipped and now is selling more at higher price

A seller I bought a book for sent a "fake tracking number" and never sent the book. He does this all the time based on his negative feedback.  They all say he sent a fake tracking number, never sent book and then refunded. He finally refunded me but now is listing more of the books at a higher price.

It is very strange because after he sold 5 books in the auction I bought from at about $38 he then sold one at $199.99 and still did the same thing to this buyer. The buyer did leave feedback saying it was a fake traking number and never received book but was refunded but hit the positive button instead of negative. At least I hope it was an acident. I left a negative.  The other 4 people from his auction just did not leave any feedback.

*Is this a way for this seller to make/collect (generate cash) money to buy things and then after the 3 weeks of going through the process of Media Mail time, emails back and forth with buyer and then finally refunding to fund his buying?

I looked high and low and finally found the signed book I had bought and not received. I found 3 and listed 2 for sale. Now this jerk lists an auction for 2 again that he probably does not even have. He uses a stock photo. I took pics of my books and charge what the book should be getting because the author is now deceased. I'm angry there are sellers who do this. Should I pull my auctions? Will I have fees? How do I end them to have no fees? I had no listing fes becaue under a certain number of listings.

With all the negatives saying the same problem, why does eBay not do something? Then again he could just start a new acount if does not already have multiples, right?

Thanks for listening.

if you don't need 3 copies...

if the signature is real why pull it?

i would put them in auction, though.

better chance of selling.

they could be working the percentages,do 10 good sales and then one bad, hoping the buyer doesn't do anything.

Re: Seller never shipped and now is selling more at higher price

As far as I know, there are no fees when it comes to pulling out of auctions, as long as no one had bidded on them. I do this form time to time when I list an item that either broke or I decided last minute to take it back. It would be really shameful for Ebay to charge you just from pulling an item out from your store because of something like this.

Also, yeahhhh. I've seen some shady sellers and I've seen incompetent ones. Don't let them get to you. As long as you post legit pictures and have an accurate description, you should be fine. Worst case scenario, you get a customer who was also burned and really needs to be sure that this item is the right one. In that case, you could send them updated pics to show them that you can be trusted.

A tip that most buyers don't know is that they can ask for more photos, or just talk to the seller. The sellers that are shady will try and dodge the questions while the ones with integrity will go out of their way to post new pics and reassure the buyer.

Another tip for anyone selling or buying, watch those negative feedback numbers! If its more than two, and they talk about the same thing, watch out!

I hope this helps!

In the future, it would be a good idea to get a separate buying ID.  If you have a bad transaction as a buyer, you want to protect your selling ID from retaliation.
