Recent light purchase

Purchased a light from the seller. It stated open box and open box means it's just open never installed. My electrician noticed cut ground wire and all indications it was installed previously. Sell claims it never was and stated I should have my electrician inspect it before installing it. Contacting the sell about issue and got the reply back as basically tough luck no returns.  Out $135.00 and had to purchase another light for $199.00 and pay to keep my electrician around till i came back with new light.

Re: Recent light purchase

I can open a box and 'attempt' or 'think about' installing it, including any prep- and then change mind. It was still never installed.

But what I don't understand is, if it looked good and would've worked as intended then why didn't you just keep it? Who cares 'used' vs 'open box'??

Re: Recent light purchase

Why not send it back? eBay has an iron clad money back guarantee for buyers. All you have to do is open a return case stating "item not as described" or "doesn't match description/photos" and the seller has no choice but to take it back AND pay the return shipping. You only have 30 days from delivery date to do this though. Please read up on this policy to better inform yourself.

But there were cut wires, see OP's feedback left. An "open box" cannot be broken or altered and should be returned as "not as described".

Re: Recent light purchase

Has it been 30 days since you received it? If no, go ahead and OPEN AN ITEM NOT DESCRIBED CASE.  If seller responds , answer tough luck and just send me a return shipping label .  Once you get the label, you use it to ship back the box.  Follow the directions exactly.  You should get a full refund once the tracking shows DELIVERED.    If the seller refuses to send a shipping label , on the 3rd day (exactly 72 hours after you opened the case), you escalate it and Ebay will step in and give you a full refund.

Re: Recent light purchase

New open box doesn't mean never installed. eBay says new open box "may have been used for testing or demo purposes."  Would they not have to install it to test it or demonstrate it works?

Re: Recent light purchase

Hey Rockstar.

If you would have read what I said as my electrician had it all installed and it didn't work what does that say especially about LED lights? He did not cut any wires; he just told me that this light was installed before. I wanted this light to put over my dining room table and I looked everywhere and if Costco's still carried that like I would have purchased it from them.  Sealed and unopened.

Re: Recent light purchase

I did and they sided with the seller. The seller said that they would only give me $25.00 back.  Maybe I should call my bank since i paid it with a Credit Card.

Hey Enthusiast:

I DID READ what you stated in your OPENING POST and it does NOT state ANYTHING about it not working!

All 'wires' from a fixture are 'cut' from the factory. So simply "cut" wires means nothing.

Anyway, if it didn't work, then that is a different story- but that was NOT the story you told.
