On june 28, 2020 I ordered an item and messaged the seller to know if they were able to ship where I live. They claimed that they did ship (through int'l economy) the item and that it would probably take longer because of the pandemic, so I waited. It has been a couple of months now and I decided to message the seller regarding the item, as I never received it. Turns out, I couldn't send the message because they deleted their account. So I tried reporting the item as never having received it, but because the seller deleted the account, the item does not appear in the list of items that haven't arrived, it only appears in my history of purchases. What can I do in this case? This is the first time this happens to me and don't know if Ebay's customer service will issue a refund or something.

Ebay's claim window is thirty days from the estimated delivery date. You are far past that, so Ebay cannot help you.
File an item not received claim in Paypal. Do it NOW as in right now, immediately. Paypal gives you 180 days from the date of purchase.
If you did not pay with Paypal, file a claim with your debit or credit card. Many have extended buyer protections.
Never, ever, ever wait that long for anything - I don't care if there's a pandemic or if the seller is located on Mars.

The thing is that there was (and still isn't) no estimated delivery date, which I know is so strange. I've emailed Ebay's customer service and will file a claim with PayPal. Thank you for your insight.

If there is no estimated delivery date you can open a claim 7 days after purchase if you are in the same country. If you are in a different country you can open a claim 30 days after purchase. Once you can open a claim, you have 30 days to do so.

I don't believe that a seller can simply delete their account. Are saying that eBay pulled the seller's account for some reason?

You can close your account any time you want.
Some sellers, especially based in China. Sell a lot of items with timely close closings. Collect the money. Close the account. Reopen under a new name and necessary info to set up new account.
Not surprisingly, the new store they open sells the exact same items they never had to sell in the first place.
Ebay does nothing about this. The perfect site for criminals!!!

It takes approximately six months for a seller to close their account.

This seller opened and close their account within 1 month, the time it took to "ship" an item never received https://www.ebay.com/usr/rugar6925

The seller didn't close their account, eBay did.
To get your money back, you need to open a case for "Item not received".
