Today, when looking for an antique watch fob i came across one which was a Nazi symbol with a Coke advertisement on it. Can anything be done to remove this item?

The eBay policy on offensive materials states that "Any item after 1933 that bears a swastika" may not be listed. Since this listing is for a 1920s fob it does not violate any policies, so, no, there's nothing you should do. I know everyone tends to associate the swastika with the Nazi regime, which is a shame since it has been (and still is) used for many other good reasons.

This is correct. The swastika is an ancient symbol and has been around for literally thousands of years - long before Adolf Hitler and his National "Socialists." Notice how the NAZI'S were National Socialists and not National Conservatives...
In any case, it's well documented that Hilter adopted the use of the Swastika from Communist Russia...the former Soviets of Russia.

This item looks as though it has been crudely modified into the shape of a swastika. If is from the 1920's (and was modified into the swastika form), then it is probably a joke in the form of a watch fob.
The Soviets in the 1920's were known for their use of the swastika. So, to combine the 1920's symbol for Communism with the very Capitalist form of "Coca Cola," would have had to have been for amusement.

You can Report it to eBay, but they are reluctant to act on single reports from single members.
If the listing is Reported by several members the chances of it being from a vigilante or a competitor or just plain wrong is much reduced.
More efficient would be to report it to Coca-Cola.
They are very protective of their brand, even on a vintage or antique piece.

In order to get a better understanding of the historical symbolism of the swastika look up explorer Heinrich Schliemann. It was he who found the symbol in the multiple era layers in the city of Troy which he excavated, then in other of his digs from Tibet to Paraguay to the Gold Coast of Africa.
There is a Smithsonian article about his discoveries and the symbol that has in it this quote;
"as Schliemann’s exploits grew more famous, and archaeological discoveries became a way of creating a narrative of national identity, the swastika grew more prominent. It exploded in popularity as a symbol of good fortune, appearing on Coca-Cola products, Boy Scouts’ and Girls’ Club materials and even American military uniforms".
Yes, the U.S. Army's 45th division used the swastika as its unit symbol. The division was made up of National Guard Units from South Western states and formed in 1924, Because those units had many American Indian members, they adopted the swastika as their unit symbol because of its native American association with being a symbol of good luck. The symbol was removed in 1939 and replaced by the Thunderbird.

because I was still only halfway through my first cup when I posted, I forgot to add two things. The others are right about the symbol only being forbidden if it is a Nazi related item. The second thing is, if the item is still up for sale/auction it might be a very highly collectible piece. The fob was first put out in 1925 by Coke. When they stopped using the symbol or if it was only a one off item is not known, but since it pre-dates 1933, it is not considered a "Nazi" item.

The politics are built into the piece. Since the watch fob was made in the 20's, the swastika (at the time) was a communist symbol. So, whoever made the piece deliberately combined a symbol for communism with one of the biggest symbols for capitalism - coca cola! It is a political watch fob.

Not even close

In 1925, Coca-Cola made a lucky watch fob in the shape of a swastika with right-facing arms and the slogan, "Drink Coca-Cola five cents in bottles"

Oh it's close alright.
Hitler took the Swastika symbol from the Soviet Russians and then he invaded them and killed millions of Russians. He was a fool for not treating the Russian people well in his haste - If Hitler had treated the Russian people better, they would have helped him defeat Stalin. Instead, the Russians (very tough people) fought against the invading German army.

By the way.
The link to this article used to be at the top of the first page after doing a google search for "Hitler was a Socialist." Now, a few short years later, the same exact search on google puts this same article at the bottom of the 3rd page. The first 3 pages of results on google are now a series of articles written by progressives that try to deny that either Hitler was a Socialist, or that he was a Conservative (which is almost as absurd as Ebay's mismanaged payment system).
People are always complaining about politics being injected into the issues online, but it's the internet itself that has become political - it is a progressive internet, being run by progressives almost exclusively.
