My Sales are now 100% down - did my ex husband pay someone to destroy my store - he left to Europe?

I was married for over 20 years. I was finally able to divorce him after I suffered by being controlled and mentally abused for many years. When I found the book Feal the Fear and do it anyway by accident, I finally felt strong enough to file for a divorce.

He threatened me that he would destroy my life and I would not make money any more. He wrote I would live on the streets and would not be able to see my grandchildren any more + I would not have the money to buy a plane ticket + my grandchildren would not know me any more.

He went back to Europe last year - lives near my daughter and grandchildren now.

Now my Ebay is 100% down - Did he pay someone from inside? I changed my store name and password a while ago and still 100% down. What can I do? So Helpless

When ever I see posts like these I always look at the person’s listings and it’s always just some random obscure stuff or just some garbage they found around their house. After looking at your stuff it’s just so obscure that I don’t think anyone would specifically search for your items on eBay and plus your stuff is somewhat pricey to, there’s barely anything under $40, your “cheapest” thing is $19.95 I don’t think your husband is doing anything 🤣

There was a time, back when I joined eBay, that the site was primarily listings of random obscure stuff. So don't discount the very large group of people who still come here looking for those kinds of items. And I can't help but notice that the description of the last seller who left you feedback is "Greetings, seller from Guam U.S.A. selling various items such as books, clothes, electronics, unique items, and other items from my household and around Guam." So apparently the OP isn't the only seller selling random obscure stuff and things they found around their house.

I'm not going to comment regarding your personal situation, because as others have said this is not the place to air such personal details about yourself.  You were strong enough to do what you did, now take that strength and apply it to your business.

I would advise you take a good look at why your sales are down.  I love your items.  There is still a market for the types of items that you sell, contrary to what some believe.  Unfortunately though not for the prices you are charging.  You do have best offer, and maybe that is why your prices are high....but they are still too high.  Think about another pricing strategy.  Many of your photos are very dark.  There's a creamer that I am drawn to, but the photos are so dark that I can't see it clearly, so much so that a potential buyer would move on to another listing.

I know you didn't come here for this kind of advice, but there it is.  You want sales, and there are things you can do to improve that.  You can.

That's the reason a lot of people come to ebay - to find the obscure. At least it used to be when you were able to find it.

Most likely the OP's stuff is caught up in the category changes, since browsing by categories are so messed up now - such a shame.

And some @d-k_treasures post here in hopes folks HERE will buy their stuff ... just sayin'

True - but unfortunately not many here sell antique toys(1800's) or trains(1800's). Since they trashed the trains category, I have not bought any from here. Nor have I even looked, because I am not weeding thru 1000's of pages. I want the ones that a seller found in their grandmas attic, and lists it not knowing what it is(you know - the ebay way). Nor am I going to click on a hundred IS's hoping they would pick one of them.

Now I only depend on listings that show up from sellers I occasionally look at to see what they have up who sell these kind of things - which might lead me to a seller or item I want. They tossed browsing out the window - such a bad move.

Yes, they really stepped in it when they shuffled categories, especially toy trains ... cats I sell heavily in.  There were more Buyers complaining here then I recall in the past AND a number of them were specific to the train categories ... lumping ALL Gauges together simply shows Home Office's lack of knowledge of the toy train business.   When I do Sold search research I often have to wade through different gauge listings when I am SPECIFICALLY looking for a particular item ... it's ridiculous.

I put together train auctions for a local auction house and one thing I make sure of is on the Title line the very first thing is the Gauge designation.  That way people looking for G or S or O can glance down titles and cull through several hundred listings to pick out what they want.  The online auctions they run can not be sorted so that is the next best thing for easy identification.

eBay has pushed the "enhance the Buying experience" rhetoric for a very, very long time but I think the recent category shuffle had the opposite affect and you are not alone in looking elsewhere or at least not on eBay any more for things of interest ...

You've got multiple "helpfuls".  That indicates you were heard and agreed with.

"Someone" did!  And helpfully, too, I might add.

I hope everything goes much better for you.  Many of us can relate!  Mine showed up on my doorstep after tricking my mother he was from my high school reunion group (over the telephone).  It was many years later and he came with an apology and his 5th wife! Ha!  Last count he had 9 kids!  May you feel the relief I did (and a chuckle).

One really good thing is ebay does protect accounts, so don't give anyone or email or... any info on your account!  Follow the good advice here given to you.

And your listings are fine (but pricey). It's slow now from the holidays: Bills are coming in.  It'll go back to normal sometime in Feb.  General rule of thumb, but see if it returns again.

Thank you for your advise - I appreciate it very much.
He might be able to do damage to my accounts because he knows my Name and SSN and much more after such a long marriage.
I will work on the listings step by step.

That $98.90 picture of mum and child dining is the same as you'd find here in the Salvos for $5.

You're way too high
