I bought a book and a week later my payment was refunded without explanation. Several messages to seller go unanswered and they continue to advertise book with multiple copies available. I need Ebay to intervene. I can't find the same book available anywhere else.

I would agree it was probably the seller looked at feedback left and BBL. There was also many positives left with comments about getting refunds after they complained.

Sorry if I did not make my OP clear but there is a reason why I want Ebay's help. I want to know if I should waste my time all over again by attempting the same purchase. Until I hear the sellers reason for cancelling, I see no reason for placing an order again. If, for some reason, they have me blacklisted, I'd want to do the same back. Lastly, since the seller has many copies for sale, I see no reason for Ebay not to DEMAND they fulfill the contract and send me my book.

@moherc While maybe the other posters weren't clear, they were trying to tell you (directly or indirectly) that contacting EBay will be a 100% waste of your time. They will do nothing for you, or they will tell you everything you want to hear (and it'll be a bunch of lies).
-------------------------
-You don't need EBay to tell you cancellation reason -- The reason the seller used for cancellation will be given to you in the notice (measage/email) from EBay of cancellation. Reasons include: Problem with Buyers Address, Out of Stock/Damaged, Buyer Requested Cancellation, Buyer Did Not Pay.... Obviously you paid, so it's only 1 of the other 3 ... 2 of those options would be blatant lies (you didnt request and they aren't out of stock/damaged). The real reason the seller cancelled is because they don't want to sell to you. You may not know why they don't want to sell to you... but thats the truth.
- You don't need EBay to tell you if buying again is a waste of time -- If you try adding the item to cart. If it lets you add to cart, you are NOT blocked/blacklisted. If it doesn't let you add to cart, you ARE blocked/blacklisted. If the seller cancelled once, they'll likely cancel again. Remember, they already cancelled once because they didn't want to sell to you. Nothing has changed.
-If they "blacklisted" you, you want to "blacklist" them back? -- This is kinda pointless because blocking members generaly is used to prevent them from buying from you, but you can block them and their messages, although they aren't messaging you (and you want them to message you) so its pointless?
-EBAY WILL NOT DEMAND A SELLER TO SELL TO YOU -- EBay does not force anyone to do anything. It will not happen. Simple as that. SORRY.
--‐--------------
Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but here are the facts and talking to EBay will either a) get you this info OR b) get you a bunch of lies .... BUT NO MATTER WHAT, contacting EBay is a waste of time.
This is NOT an uncommon problem, sorry.
EDITED TO ADD: IF YOU TRY ADDING TO CART, AND CAN'T ADD TO CART, BECAUSE YOU'RE BLOCKED ... THEN THE SELLER ISN'T GETTING YOUR MESSAGES. ONCE YOU'RE BLOCKED, MESSAGES YOU SEND DO NOT ACTUALLY GO TO THE SELLER. SELLER DOESNT KNOW YOU'RE TRYING TO CONTACT THEM
