I received an item from a seller yesterday that was the wrong item (I bought a vinyl and they sent me the wrong album). I sent the seller a message, and they haven’t gotten back to me yet. The post said they don’t accept returns. How long before I a)report it to eBay for a refund and b)leave the seller negative feedback?

File an item not as described case now..you have sixty days to leave feedback.

Feedback should always be the last step in a transaction, after everything is said and done.
It might be a bit premature to talk about leaving a negative before giving the seller a chance to make things right, especially over the weekend. Give the seller time.

You have 30 days from the delivery date to open a not as described case with eBay. Many sellers take weekends off, so I'd allow a couple more days for the seller to respond. And I don't recommend ever leaving feedback before the return is completed. Sellers are far less willing to make a return easy if you've already dropped a neg.

Spot on. You might regret leaving a negative so quickly. Sellers make mistakes. It's how they resolve them that matters. Wait and see how it all plays out, then leave your feedback.

"The post said they don’t accept returns".
A seller's no returns/refund policy does not fly in the face of ebay's money back guarantee (MBG). If you receive a damaged or different item from a seller that have to accept a return or depending on the item just refund you. They are responsible for the return shipping cost if they want it back. Read the terms of ebay's MBG in the link below.
