My apologies if this is the wrong topic/board.
I am going through a return with a maniac seller who after seeing pictures of the item in pieces will not allow me to return the item. He accused me of swapping parts, intentionally damaging the unit, besides the vulgarity and dis respect. I had a stroke last year and this transaction is really making me fluster and so I tried to contact ebay and I can't seem to get through on this topic.]
Here is a timeline of what's happened.
Purchased on Dec 14, I messaged seller asked to please pack for the 3000 mile journey. (the last one of these I purchased a year or so ago busted in transit due to poor packing. Seller agreed to pack well.
Received the item at 6am via fedex on December 22, (just in time for christmas!) Later that day I Opened box and found unsecure packing, which the item was indeed damaged on 2 sides, so in 3 corners of the unit. INformed seller with pics, multiple tiny pieces, plastic side shattered. (The seller indicated the unit is fragile on the sides and easily break but the unit functions so that's all that is important!) I actually would keep the unit even though the sides were busted. That night, I turn the unit on again and try to record a track (it's a digital multitrack workstation), If it works.... I'll keep it! (I've been wanting to record some music over the holiday).... so about 5 minutes into using the device, (which I have experience with) the computer screen went blank/blue and there was nothing I could do but wait for it to come out of this, whatever is going on, but it never did, it apparently froze. I had to unplug the unit to be able to turn back on. This is a no no because if it freezes, it will not save what you recorded and wrote the seller that the item froze. (packed it for return) (Filed damaged item)
December 23-24 This is when the accusations began, "I knew from the start when you asked me to pack that you were going to want a return, you damaged it intentionally", He said he put stickers on the unit, which i saw when I packed the unit back up for return. This was Christmas eve. A long series of emails about "what I was up to". Intentionally destroying the unit!? Said I was swapping parts,....I wished him Merry Christmas and stopped responding.
December 27th, no return label sent...? I posted a negative feedback. Then I get a message that makes me think I need to report this seller. Ironically, they've been on ebay since 2020 and ebays says they are a top seller. Which is what made me purchase this "too good to be true" item. How can I report a seller? What do you think, I just can't take it anymore, it's like verbal abuse over a $300 item.

"And finally I wish I could point out to the seller that 'Fragile" stickers don't help at all when the packages are being processed by machinery and if an item is well-packed they aren't needed."
exactly as I informed the seller. No amount of stickers are going to prevent damage if the unit isn't packed well.
And yes, I did not see this coming. Ebay says above their feedback, "top rated seller, best of ebay etc etc" and THAT is what truly threw me off the "it's too good to be true" phenomena.
I was so frazzled, I couldn't wait to post a feedback to light the fire for them to send me the darn return. I really don't like ending 2023 and starting 2024 on this transaction. It would have been back in their hands by now. The seller just informed he explained he was going to send the label. Sorry but I missed that part because he never said it.
Yes, the stress was too much. The feedback is 100% true. I took about 25 pics not including the ones I have packing it for return. It's been in my car for the entire week waiting to be shipped. He said he put security stickers on the bottom to know if I opened it up. I saw little stickers all around the edges when packing. What does this prove? He can remove them when he get's it and say I did!?????? Bizzare.

I think this seller just changed their ebay name. Do they think changing their name is going to hide this transaction? Note the "best of ebay" statement by ebay. WOW!

Thanks, I was looking for a report comment while reading the message but did not see that I could report it from that message.

Seller finally issues return label minutes before I can ask ebay to step in.

Ok, I know I know, I should just ignore this seller, one of ebay's finest, but he keeps messaging me, unbelievable stuff, showing me pictures of the stickers he placed on the bottom, security stickers he calls them, I did not tamper with his unit as he keeps insisting. He shows me pictures of stickers that indeed have been tampered with! BUT NOT BY ME. Do I need this torment? So I just got this message and I wanted you to see it, to see how far this person is going, total crayness, stupidity is what I call it. I could show you another 4 or 5 doosies of comments but I'll let this one suffice. Keep in mind, I am in Massachuetts, he is in California. What about my time? For this to happen, will somebody take his money and hold it! lol We're talking a $5K trip.??????????? What a way to start 2024. I will spare you the previous messages but if you want to see them, for the sake of study.....LMK

In case it hasn't been mentioned.. Always have a separate account for buying, that way no one can create havoc with it. A lot of malicious people out there.

I'm the buyer, I'm not worried about my account. But I've learned that both buyers and sellers give you a little more respect knowing you buy and sell. I've been here since 1999 so have seen a lot. I would probably have 5000 feedbacks combined. And they were higher ticket items. Art, cars, rare items, furniture...
