Hi, i was looking at an item, I asked the guy how much success he has had with it, and he blocked me. I read more reviews, went to a website, purchased from the same guy, so I got one. Why would he block me ? Did I offend him somehow ? Just had another guy buy something. There was no name in the address. P.O. would not accept. I asked him for his name so I could ship to him, He came back with info about asking people for info violates ebay policy. What am I doing wrong? I kinda pride myself for being Honest and a Good Seller, Tis the Season

You leave lots of Negatives and Neutrals (6%) according to your first page of feedback. Some sellers will block you if given the chance.

While usually a name "John Smith" would be supplied, his ebay ID would also be accepted.
After all if "eBay" or "shopify" is an acceptable address, why not "diagnosticmonkey".
FWIW, my return address labels have my eBay ID rather than my personal name, not to hide anything, but because that is what my buyers would recognize.
He came back with info about asking people for info violates ebay policy.
Kind of a Richard, isn't he?
Be prepared for more difficulties. Or even add him now to your Blocked Bidder List.
and he blocked me. ... purchased from the same guy, so I got one.
If he Blocked you, you should not have been able to purchase.

I think he just stated that he was able to make the purchase after being blocked because he went to the seller's website.
Although in my experience as a seller, I block buyers who repeatedly send me low ball offers. Perhaps the OP forgot to mention that he made multiple low offers?

Probably took that as a "problem buyer" red flag.
Did you let the buyer know that PO was refusing it without a name when you messaged??

This is probably the reason he was blocked. If so, it serves as another good reason sellers are correct in leaving a negative message in the feedback for problem buyers - it helps to protect other sellers. As a buyer who also sells (or at least I used to sell), I can appreciate sellers who actively work to protect me (as a seller) by issuing warnings about other buyers...thus, I am more likely to buy from such a seller.
We don't know for sure why the author of the OP was blocked, but that may be the reason...

I'm a bit confused. Are you complaining about a seller blocking you from purchasing from them? What do you need to ship to him? What does your being a good seller have to do with him blocking you from buying from him?
Frankly, your asking him a question probably allowed him to check your profile and review the record of bid retractions and feedback left. Personally, I block anyone with a record of more than one bid retraction, but that's just me.

Sellers are sensitive to questions about an items reliability, quality, functionality, because of ebay's seller performance ratings. The seller may have looked at your feedback profile saw the recent red donuts (maybe not the comments you left) and decided not to risk selling to you. As a seller yourself you should understand that t doesn't take many defects or negatives to hurt a seller.

My Record is Perfect, No red dots, All positive feedback but thanks

All buyers have one hundred percent positive feedback, because thats the only kind sellers can leave a buyer, therefore its meaningless. He is speaking about the feedback you leave your sellers, which is what other sellers check before blocking that buyer from purchasing anything from them,in fear they will be negged too.

Actually, I have to disagree that your record is perfect. You have received two neutrals in the past twelve months and your record shows one revised feedback. In addition, your record shows three bid retractions in the last 12 months. So while it is true that you have no red donuts, I believe your record is far from perfect.
Of course, all buyer feedback can be nothing other than 100% because seller's can leave nothing else. About the only time a buyer's feedback can fall below 100% is when they are buying & selling on the same account.

I'm going to go with "I asked the guy how much success he has had with it" for 200, Alex.
Sounds like you want to be a competitor of his.

I thought it was an adult enhancement product and the seller got offended that the OP would assume they needed it.

My Money is still on the idea that the seller did not want to sell to a potentially problematic buyer. Ebay is full of them now thanks to Ebay's many bone head policies.
