Feedback rating table

Currently, the table at the top of a sellers rating page only goes back 12 months. Is there a way to see an interactive table for the previous year's ratings and the breakdown of the rating as shown in the current 12 months?

Re: Feedback rating table

@ckinkead,

"Currently, the table at the top of a sellers rating page only goes back 12 months... and the breakdown of the rating as shown in the current 12 months?"

On a seller's "feedback profile page" there is a box that shows the numbers of the 3 types of feedback a seller has  received in the last 12 months, Positive - Neutral - Negative. Seller's feedback percentages are based on the last 12 months of received feedback and have been since you signed up to use ebay.

If they have received neutral and/or negative feedback, you can click on those numbers to read only those comments. Look for repetitive feedback for problems like not as described items, items missing from orders, slow shipping, items coming from china not the U.S. ...

"Is there a way to see an interactive table for the previous year's ratings"

No there is not an interactive table for previous years, I would think that a 23 year member would know that by now.  The only way to see older feedback is to use the button under the first page of comments to expand the number of feedback shown to 200 and keep opening pages until you start seeing feedback labeled "Over a year ago".

IMO, that isn't necessary since things may have happened in the past that caused a seller to receive non positive feedback, The Covid lock down period a few years ago when postal service was interrupted all over the country, or localized weather events that caused disruptions in shipping, even a seller having health issues for example. If a seller has a significant number of non positive feedback from the last 12 months, it is likely that has been happening for quite awhile, so there's really not a reason to go back over a year.

Re: Feedback rating table

Thank you for your very informative comment. I do feel your comment about a 23 year member should know this is both unnecessary and unkind. It is only in the past few years that I have found it necessary to review comments about sellers, as so many have become dishonest, relying on eBays lack of control, and failure to enforce its own rules, even when reported. A true Buyer Beware place to shop. As far as the need to go back more than 12 months, some sellers have become experts in cycling through periods of time to get back to a high rating, knowing that most buyers will not scroll through hundreds of pages to see older problems, allowing them the chance to repeat the less than honest practices they did in the past.

Why would eBay not remove the older comments also, if your logic was correct. So Yes, there are many reasons to go back more than 12 months. There was/are buyers who were quick to complain about supply shortages and delivery problems during Covid, but sellers have the right to respi d to those comments and to ask eBay to remove any unjustified  ratings/ comments 0instead of expecting eBay to protect them. I feel this limit is a way to give an edge to the dishonest sellers over a long period  of time.

Why was 12 month limit chosen as the table cut off. Why not 12 weeks, or 12 years. In fact, I believe many buyers who look at the table fail to notice the 12 month, so I think the table should represent the ratings and comments that follow it.

We all know eBay makes it's money from sellers , so yes they do look the other way for many deceptive selling practices, and it's recent use of AI has only made this practice worse.

If the answer is always Buyer Beware, then we should be able to use the tools available to protect ourselves without undue burden.

I think honest sellers would welcome the chance to standout from the shady sellers.

Yes, because of my 23 year membership, I did already know about how to read only the specific types of comments, and to expand the number of comments per page and the age of comments, which is why I did not ask those questions. But once again, thank you for answering my question that I did ask, that there is not anyway to expand the table past 12 months.
