Escalating a claim

I ordered 2 rechargeable batteries in Feb. They have since quit & will not charge. I've contacted the seller numerous times over 3 weeks because they offer a 5 year warranty. The seller will not reply. I filed a claim with eBay and keep getting emails asking if I want to escalate my claim. I cannot find where that option is. I go to the Resolution Center & see my case but no option to escalate it. I filed a claim May 29 so its had over the 3 days for the seller to reply. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can only escalate a return request if it was started within 30 days of actual delivery. May 29 is well past that date of delivery, so now you were allowed to start a return request only for the purpose of communicating with your seller, without any enforcement or oversight from eBay.

 

If the item is not as described, you can still open a dispute at PayPal within 180 days of payment, if that's how you paid:

Please review the ebay money back guarantee. You do realize that you have only 30 days from the last estimated date for delivery of your item to open a request, which can be escalated to a claim if not resolved with your seller, asling ebay to step in.

 

A 5 year product warranty is a different matter.

 

You have 180 days on PayPal to file a claim from date of payment

If the item was working when you received it and failed later, I don't think you would get much help from eBay MBG.  That would be a warranty issue and not many sellers offer a warranty on items they sell here on eBay and most manufacturer's warranties don't carry over unless the seller is an authorized dealer for them.

I see you bought 2 items from sellers in China.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you NOT buy from China.

Additionally, unless the ebay seller is an authorized reseller of that product (rare), any warranty they claim or imply is worthless.  Yet another thing ebay should work on, sellers offering warranties that don't work.

If you batteries came from China ,be grateful they didn’t destroy your device or burnt down your house. Toss them and buy from a reputable seller /store in the USA. Just SAY NO to **bleep** from China.

Actually, I believe any seller anywhere can offer a warranty on any product they sell.  Of course, they would be legally liable for honoring any claims against it themselves, not the manufacturer.
