Ebay allows sellers to WASTE buyer's time and tie up their money

I bought an item from a seller and paid for it.   Several days went by and the seller did not mark it as shipped.  The seller did not reply.    Then after the delivery date, the seller cancelled the sale.   I got an email that in 3 to 5 days my money would be refunded.   I was blocked from leaving feedback.

I have been here 21 years and SICK of Ebay's stupid rules.   If I buy and pay for something I should be allowed to leave feedback.   This seller gets away with wasting buyer's time.

Then, why isn't Ebay refunding my money immediately?   The deducted the money from paypal immediately.  They are holding my money to make interest off it.

I really considering closing the Ebay account.   It just is not worth being here.  I gave up selling because I am not giving my SSN to Ebay and not giving them free access to my bank acct.

Thank you.

Re: Ebay allows sellers to WASTE buyer's time and tie up their money

I guess everyone has different results. I ran a district of big box stores in the 90's and of the 3 companies I worked for, took 2-3 days (weekends/holidays excluded) to hit our bank.

My personal website, took 3-5 days and has since 2011.

Here- sales on Tuesday are pending on Tuesday, deposited Weds and in my bank on Thursday. 2 Days.

Thank you.  It does not show up.

It just really irks me that Ebay blocks feedback when a person buys something, pays for it and AFTER the delivery date it is cancelled.   Unbelievable.

If the guy would have said, I haven't got my money yet and when I do, I will ship.  I would have accepted that.   I think the seller just decided he couldn't get to the post office, so he cancels.

You know, if this is how it works, then I guess it is okay for me to tie this sellers items up by me clicking buy now and not paying.

I understand you are frustrated by the seller's behavior in your case, but you should not allow your frustration to get the better of you.

If you actually try doing that, once you have two unpaid item cancellations on your record, you may no longer be able to bid on or buy items from many sellers who set their buyer requirements to block users with multiple unpaid item cancellations in the last year.

Yes, I know that and had my settings that way when I sold on Ebay.   But, I am sick of Ebay now and being that I may close my account entirely, I just don't care.

Ebay was a great place when I started.  I loved it.   It is nothing but a headache now.

Thank for advising me, though.

Yes the listing won't submit if you don't have that information selected.

Are you saying that even though on my end, it says "Payment Received," under my orders, it doesn't mean the seller has yet gotten my money?  I'm talking about the little money icon right next to the other three icons: "Item has shipped", "Feedback needed", "Feedback Received".

That is what I'm saying.  If it's managed payments it may show payment received once it clears your funding source but that doesn't mean the seller has received the money yet since it would still need to deposit into the sellers bank before they have actual access to it.  In the same respect win the refund it has to process through the system by clearing their bank and processed back to your funding source.

Try this for leaving feedback.

Re: Ebay allows sellers to WASTE buyer's time and tie up their money

To be fair, eBay does not allow the sellers to waste your time, the seller chooses to do that themselves.

As soon as you pay (or very close to) eBay send the seller the notice that is it safe to ship your item - sadly many sellers are wary of this and decide to hold until payment clears to their bank.

In this respect the seller is doing the wrong thing, not eBay.
