I bought a custom suit from a Chinese seller. She advise that I give exact measurements for a perfect fit. She promised it before Easter.
She knows how to manipulate ebay to avoid trouble. it was running late, and she finally shipped. It was received by someone in California. I am in Michigan! I couldn't reach eBay due to Covid. I couldn't challenge online, as eBay had it marked and received.
She agrees to ship again. Finally does, and the suit is about a size 44 and I am a 48. No regard for the requested measurements provided.
in trying to communicate, she uses fake emails and knows if she establishes a shipping label, that eBay will Mark it shipped, and the buyer can do little.
this is just 1% of the con that I have been out through. I began a return process on Saturday, and as long as she responds, eBay doesn't seem to want to advocate on my behalf.
The seller is offering to
- I keep the suit
- she refunds me partial and makes replacement suit
- I return the suit for full credit
the second two options are reasonable, and eBay will agree. Keeps her out of trouble. I know, however, that this woman will claim to have never received the item, and report to eBay that I never sent it. No credit given.
This woman has been so conniving, that I believe not only should Ebay refund my money; but if not, she should have to refund me in full (including shipping), prior to me returning the item.
at the very least, she has violated eBay policy regarding proper account procedure, as the listing still shows that the item was delivered to California. No record of the second shipment to me in Michigan.
what should I do; and is there anyone to speak to at eBay?
Thanks!

Not sure the tome frame that has passed. But, you could file an item not as described. Seller would have to pay return shipping and give you full refund once they received it. Make sure you send with tracking number.
Here is the link:
If time has passed, you can contact eBay:
You can send an email message to eBay.
Here is the link:
The email option is at the bottom of the link.
Or you can reach out to customer service using social media:
Social media worked for me. Got an answer fairly quickly that resolved my issue.
Hope this helps!

Go to the Resolution Center and file a not as described dispute. Do not say it doesn't fit. Don't say wrong size. You'll have to spend over $50 to return it if you do. Cite it doesn't match the description- say you received the wrong item. The seller
can't send a return label but they are responsible to pay return shipping. If they don't then in a few days you can let eBay know the seller won't send you return shipping money and ask eBay to force the seller to refund. You need money to send it back with tracking which is the large flat rate box or calculated Priority Mail. If eBay sees they're not taking responsibility for the return cost they'll refund and not require you to return it.

Frankly, I believe that we may have become a bit too reliant on technology and online sales for some things. I maybe a bit old school in my thinking, but I'm skeptical about simply sending one's measurements and expecting to receive a tailor made suit that fits perfectly in return. Geez! While not being an expert, I know that there are many that don't know how to correctly take measurements, much less take them on themselves.
I'm not sure how eBay's custom ordered merchandise policies will apply but you will probably need to file a dispute through PayPal since it has been past 30 days and beyond eBay's MBG time limit.
By the way, I'm not sure that what your tailor says has anything relevant in eBay's eyes.

I am so sorry to hear this. As if things aren't difficult enough we're dealing with people who just don't care. Incredibly frustrating.

As someone else said you need to file an item not as described - doesn't match description. Take a tape measure and take pictures that show the measurement of the item that you received and attach them to your post.
Make it very clear how the item is smaller than what you ordered. The Seller will be responsible for return shipping.
If you don't want a replacement - and want a refund - make that very clear.

I'm not sure anyone answered your question about talking to someone at eBay.
Go to the bottom of the screen where it says Help and Contact. When the page comes up with your purchases, don't select anything.
Go to the bottom of the screen and you'll see Contact Us for Customer Service. Click that and you'll get a phone number.

"Chinese Con Artist" ---Ebay's most cherished seller.
"I couldn't reach eBay due to Covid" ---that's a thing of the past. Ebay has a new
"crisis" to use...
