Why am I still seeing junk from china when my search filter is set to 1000 miles of my location? I still see China , Vietnam etc. I am sick of seeing junk product that breaks or is just plain useless, why are my filters not doing what they are supposed to and why does eBay allow china to create US accounts so it can appear to be from the US.
They are to worried about losing money that's why, greed always comes first. My days shopping on ebay are numbered, I have been a proud member for 14 years buying and selling, but eBay is not what it used to be,anything goes now days, it's down right disgusting!

As you have noted ebay did help many asian seller register in the U.S. and some actually ship from warehouses here most of the time. Others drop ship from or are located in China and ship from there giving false item locations.
Below is a list of ways to try and ferret out sellers who do ship fro outside of the country. The first step is to check seller's feedback profiles.

Thank you very much for all the tips. I still have a lot to learn about eBay but when I started using this as a shopping place of interest over 13 to 14 years ago there were not gobs and gobs of china junk being pushed on eBay,it has changed substantially over the years. So the filtering was not such a big deal then like it is now,you really have to do your due diligence when shopping now just to make sure your not getting something from China,it's very time consuming because my filter settings do not seem to be doing the right thing or maybe it's me, and then there is all the fake US accounts made by deceitful sellers. Thanks for your time.

Yes ebay has changed greatly since 2010 when they opened the site to chinese sellers, and now ones from India and Vietnam who seem to have followed the chinese sellers lead.
Unfortunately, other sites have done the same thing in the last few years and now they too are having issues.

"I now had to stop buying anything from California for that reason.
Now that doesnt stop a listing using any other fraud location, ie New York, when it actually ships from china. Yep, happened to me."
If you come back to read this, go back to the beginning of this topic and read the list of things to check out about a seller before buying on ebay.
FYI you can also stop buying from N.J. Fl. Tx. Il. and others since chinese sellers also use those states and others as item locations.
