You do. Simply keep a list of sellers that you do not wish to do business with and when their listings show up in a search, ignore them.

@reallyhardtofindjapan I don't think eBay could keep track of that type of information when returning items in Search ... it would probably bog the system down too much. So i agree with @7606dennis , keep a list.

You can block up to 10 sellers' items from showing up in a search result using the filters in Advanced Search or in the left column of the search results page (More Refinements: Seller). You find the filter where you limit the results to those of given seller(s) and change the "Include" to "Exclude" and list up to 10 IDs in the following text box.
You can then save the search (link towards the top left of the results) and then access the saved search in My eBay: Saved Searches (you'll probably want to turn off notices of new listings while you're there) changing the keywords and other filters as needed to find what you are looking for. You can save multiple searches with up to 10 sellers excluded in each to use for searches in different categories (or other way to distinguish which set of sellers is most likely to have listings in what you are searching for).

I don't get the question. You want to block a bad seller. Why do you have to block them? Are you unable to resist buying from them on your own? What exactly prevents you from choosing not to do business with them? This is a very odd question

I excluded a lot of sellers in my searches. Some because they list too many over priced items in the field I shop in, some for other reasons.
I don't find the question odd, as I know that others do the same thing.

They allow sellers to block. I find it a little one sided.

Yeah I know but I find the whole process cumbersome. 10 sellers is not enough.

Actually, sellers do not always have the option to keep buyers from purchasing from them while buyers always have the option to not buy from a particular seller. That is why I always advocate sellers checking a bidder's feedback left for others and their bid retraction record when possible.

"It would be very helpful to have an excluded seller list built into the platform"
Actually there is a way in the advanced section drop down to exclude sellers.
Go down to seller section.

Just save one of those searches with your excluded sellers. Then next time, you can go to your "Saved searches" and just change whatever's in the main search-terms box.

When a seller blocks a bidder, the system only has to check one ID against a blocked bidder list. It is nowhere near as complicated as returning listings for hundreds of sellers and checking each one of them against a list.
