Annoying Feedback Advertising A Sellers Business. Anyone else.

Yesterday I purchased a pair of pants from an ebay seller. I paid, plain and simple. Then I go and look at my feedback received, and here is this totally annoying feedback that had been left for me

(♥).•*´¨`*•♥•(・・)MORE AWESOME FINDS @ XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.COM•(♥).•*´¨`*•♥•(・・)

Sellers name removed by me. Does anyone find this irritating. It is an advertisement for the seller's business, and has nothing to do with the transaction. Sorry, just venting, but proper feedback is appreciated.   This seller does this for every sale she makes.

I've seen a lot of sellers leaving feedback like that, don't know how they get away with it.

Have a great day.

Makes you wonder. I am glad to know it isn't just me being a crab.

@tinsoldierunderground  You are correct. It isn’t right. I think I am going to mention it to the seller, because my “space” on eBay is not for another seller to advertise.

Decided to call eBay as to me this should not be allowed. The representative said she would report it, and have the feedback left for me removed. Additionally I was told this seller had been reported also for sending packages with all kinds of advertising on them..stickers with her eBay name , etc. that apparently is not allowed. I will see what I get in the mail.

They should remove all the feedback comments they've left like that.

Have a great day.

Sorry but that's just nonsense. Did CS tell you that? It's the sellers packages not eBay's. Sellers can put what they like on them (within any postal regulations of course).

I basically only shop online.  I know that I probably would not want a package to arrive with ads all over it for someone else’s website.

Actually it becomes the buyers package when paid for. I personally package in plain boxes or envelopes with an invoice .

I have been selling for 23 years and heard everything from customer service.. I do believe I am not the only one who complained about this seller.

Lucky you got any feedback...luckier it was positive.

Would it bother me?...nope...I welcome a positive....a feedback.

As to your specific question ("Does anyone find this irritating"):

I would not, in the slightest; although I am of the sort that reads seller feedback maybe twice a year. If that.

The ".com" part is not allowed because it's off-eBay advertising and that's the only reason eBay removed it from your FB page.

That point aside, I don't see a problem with the FB. It's similar to "thank you, come again" which is pretty standard for businesses salutation at buyer checkout. A similar practice in physical stores is to give buyers a branded shopping bag for their purchase as opposed to a plain, unmarked bag. Advertises ones store when the buyer walks around with a branded shopping bag and, again, fairly standard practice. 🤷

Walk without rhythm, it won't attract the worm.

FIRST of all I am the BUYER. I don’t have to grovel for feedback. Also ebay did remove her self serving feedback. 🙄🙄

That’s great that it doesn’t seem to be a problem for you. I didn’t appreciate it, and now it is gone.

Yup, that's great to see eBay was able to remove it for you. 👍

Your original post asked if others found the practice irritating so I responded with my opinion.
