it was supposed to be free shipping but the post office wanted me to pay for it. I did'nt and opened a case but because I did'nt provide shipping info they closed the case and now I'm out the money and the item. Ebay is absolutely no help

@kenneth7148 Refusing the package is the what you should have done per the eBay Money Back Guarantee. Is that what you did? Then you need to file a not received refund request and save the receipt that showed postage due so you can show eBay why you refused it.
Postage due is the ONLY reason you can refuse a package and still be covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
4 business days after you file the case you need to contact eBay customer service and show them the proof of postage due. I recommend social media so you can send a photo.
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
