When does a declined order cancellation drop off a sellers "awaiting payment" page?

A buyer won an auction and immediately requested to cancel the order.  I was unaware I would not be able to cancel the order after 4 days (I know now, ugh), so the item is sitting in my "awaiting payment" page.  When will that item drop off?  I'm not a full-time eBay seller, only selling personal collections.  These deadbeat buyers are such a waste of time.   Ebay has changed a lot over the years.....we can't even leave negative feedback to warn other sellers.  Unreal!

I missed your reply and am following back up.

Yes, if a seller declines the buyer's request for cancelation, the seller can no longer cancel and get a fee refund. Yes, if the messaging is unclear, it should be improved.

It will roll off your list of sales, probably around 90 days. It won't be there forever.

If the fees are a large amount, you can ask for a courtesy refund from eBay through eBay for Business on facebook.

I am sorry that happened, it is frustrating when buyers do not pay.

You can cancel the sale until 30 days after the sale.

-- If you are the seller, and the Buyer has asked you to cancel the sale, you can do so right away without any problem. Just select "Buyer Asked to Cancel" as the reason.

OR

-- If it has been 4 days (96 hours) and the buyer has not paid, you can cancel the order for "Non-payment".

-- Here is a help page where you can learn more, and you can cancel right here, just click the picture of your item and follow the steps.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/cancelling-transaction?id=4136

Try this process and let me know if it works for you.

Re: When does a declined order cancellation drop off a sellers "awaiting payment" page?

Thank you for your response.  The buyer sent a cancellation request immediately and I declined.  I was not aware at the time that is not a good idea.  Because I declined, now I’m stuck.  I cannot cancel at all.  When I try to do so, I get “you cannot cancel this order because a cancellation already exists”.  Now the  item is sitting on my waiting for payment page.  What eBay does not tell you when you receive a cancellation request is declining is not really an option.  What they should send is a message saying buyer cancelled order, end of subject.  Buyers can cancel within one hour of the auction ending with no strike against them.  No harm, no foul.

I’m smarter now because of this incident but I’m wondering if the item will automatically drop off at some point?  Also wondering if I will get stuck paying selling fees on an item that was never paid for.

As I mentioned earlier, eBay has changed a lot from the days I was collecting till now when I’m selling my collection.  Live and learn.

Thanks for the follow-up.  I haven’t noticed any fee charges yet but I’ll go back and look, I may have missed it.

 Thanks for the advice.
