Possible eBay scam

I purchased a product from some person on eBay on March 8th. The person had 0 feedback and took a chance anyways. I have been messaging them and they told me they would mail the product last Friday or Saturday morning. After no status shipment or tracking number I messaged them and asked what’s up. No response. Finally I said I’ll just deal with eBay to the buyer. I heard back a few hours later and they said their job was an extensive job and they promised to get it mailed out this morning. We’ll still nothing. I’m wondering if this is a scam and what should I do? Also if it is a scam how does eBay get the money back from them and back to me? How will I know if this is a scam?  Thanks in advance.

Ebay provided you with the estimated date of delivery. You cannot take any action until that date has passed.

Ebay has a Money Back Guarantee. If the date of delivery passes without you receiving the item, you can file a Refund Request.

Yea I’m aware. Can’t the seller take the money out of their account by that time however and how would eBay get it back?

Ebay will not release their funds to them until the item has been delivered to the buyer and sometimes even longer than that if they are a new/infrequent seller.

Oh I had no idea. Thanks again. I’ll calm down a bit now. Just hoping it’s actually not a scam. It’s something I’ve been looking for a while.
