The checkout process is failing after applying 4 gift cards. I saw a similar post from another user in August 2024 who was experiencing the same issue. However, in my case, I am unable to move forward with the checkout. A case has already been opened for this issue, and 24 hours have passed without any updates or emails from the technical team.
How can I get an update on the status of my case with the case number for the tech team?
Details:
After adding 4 gift cards, I am trying to pay the remaining balance. I have tried the following scenarios:
PayPal: I get the same error: "Update your payment details."
Added 3 different credit cards: The same error occurs: "Update your payment details."
These options were tested using iPhone (iOS), Chrome, Edge, clearing cache, and private browsing. The same error persists.
None of the credit cards are receiving the transaction on their end, which suggests the issue is in eBay's checkout process.
If I remove all gift cards, there is no error, and I am able to proceed with checkout.

Wow, good digging and background check from your side I didn't even remember this and how it was solved 🙂 ... can you try https://www.ebay.com/gft/balance by adding 13 random number to check if you get the same error I am getting now:
Oops, balance checker is not available. Wait a moment and try again.

Random numbers will not work; you must enter a valid gift card number to get a result -- even if the result is zero.
I just tested with an empty gift card and got a zero balance result.

Yes, but are these channels are better than contacting them using the customer support options?

Thanks to everyone who provided input on this issue, I appreciate all the help.
I’ve given up on the previous approach, so I tried something different. As I mentioned, using 4 gift cards wouldn't allow me to proceed, but when I tried with only 3 gift cards, there were no issues, and I was able to place the order.
That said, I still consider this an issue. Also, eBay customer support is frustrating. Every time you contact them, you have to provide all the details again. They don’t open a service request on your behalf, so there’s no way for the customer to follow up with a ticket number. This means you end up having to start over with customer support every time and explain everything all over again.
