Item Returned "Not As Described", Even Though It Was Described Perfectly

I recently sold 2 kids books ($2.95 each, plus $4.75 shipping).  Books were clearly described as used, in acceptable condition, in the listing.

Buyer was appalled because the books she received were not brand new, even though the listing CLEARLY states that they are used, in acceptable condition. She returned the books stating they were "not as described", which is absolutely ridiculous, as they were EXACTLY as described.

I had to pay outgoing and return shipping on this order because this person did not read the description.  How on earth can the buyer's inability to read the description be the seller's fault?

Does ebay not have any form of reimbursement for these types of transactions?  I can find no way to appeal this utterly and completely unfair situation.

Other platforms have mechanisms in place for these situations.  ???

@central_pa_sales

If the buyer filed a Return Request for a reason covered by Ebay's Money Back Guarantee ("not as described") and the return request was approved, you cannot appeal it.

Edited to add: Upon viewing your feedback from the buyer, they knew it was used, but it worst condition than described, which seems to be a common complaint from the buyers that have left negative feedback. Perhaps you are overestimating the condition of the books?

Actually the buyer left a message with the return request stating she was returning the items because they were not new.  The books range in condition from like new to acceptable.  Most are in the "good" range, but a "like new" or "acceptable" one pops up from time to time.  I have sold MANY without this problem.

More likely the buyer committed fraud by returning an item she knew was accurately described, because I did point this out to her before she sent them back.

This happens a lot and I'm really getting pretty tired of it.  It's hard enough to make a few bucks on here, and it get almost impossible when buyers commit fraud by returning items they know are accurately described - either from buyer's remorse or not reading the description before purchasing.
