Did you mean:

Buyer requested cancellation

I am a seller. I had a highest bidder request a cancellation after the auction ended. They bought the item elsewhere for less. Can I somehow offer the item to the next highest bidder. I only see an option to cancel the winners bid and relist the item. I hate to relist again.

Re: Buyer requested cancellation

Did you get a message from the buyer vs. one from eBay that the buyer requested to cancel the order and you have 3 days to respond?

It might feel good to be able to hold such bad bidders accountable by cancelling for non-payment after 4 days,  but eBay is not very good at protecting sellers from retaliation by buyers who want out of their commitment and know what actions to take to not be held accountable or retaliate against sellers who do try to do so.   It's usually best to cancel as soon as possible (cancel for "Buyer request" for a message from the buyer, choose the accept option in the message from eBay) so you can make an SCO or relist ASAP.

If you want to make a Second Chance Offer to a losing bidder uncheck or don't check the relist option on the cancellation form.   You might want to check if there are any losing bidders who have bid enough to make it worthwhile to you AND who have not opted out of receiving SCOs  before you do the cancellation so you can do the relist option when you cancel if there aren't any.   I think the list is available before you cancel the order (since SCOs are also available to use to try to sell duplicates without relisting) so check there.   Information and instructions:     https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/selling-auctions/making-second-chance-offers?id=4142&st=3...
