mystery litte jar ID and Value pictures included

This interesting jar is 5 1/2 inches tall. It has a lid, and it has panels that are leather. Some panels are painted as in the photos. This jar is heavy for its size. I am not sure if the metal is silver or not? I am wanting to know what it is if anyone knows, who made it, where did it come from, how old is it, what is it worth? It is a really unique piece. Cute jar! I'm not sure exactly, but it looks African or Moraccan. It's not silver, you wouldn't have those solder marks at the connection points. I don't think it's super old, likely a travel souvenir.
