I'm relatively new to eBay and quite new to aceo's. I have tried to list every week, but I missed last week - just couldn't get anything finished. I listed 7 aceo's last night (Monday.) Six were new and one was a re-list. I'm wondering if that is too many for a slow market...I was really fortunate for my first aceo's listing - I sold three out of four!
When I first started on eBay, I had "beginner's luck." I sold my first art listed, (a courtroom drawing,) albeit at a lower price. I was lucky the second week too and sold the second piece to my first Buyer for a higher price. Then I listed two to four pieces a week and "took a bath" on the fees for several weeks...I only sold one piece.
More experienced eBayers advised me to do some aceo's to build up my feedback and get my name "known." My DH, who is also an artist, can't understand all the time I pour into my aceo's. (In the illustration/graphic arts world, which is our background, an aceo would be considered a "spot illustration" and would bring at least $200!) I keep telling him "it's advertising!"
I do enjoy doing the aceo's, but I don't expect to make any money on them.
Except for this week when I listed on Monday night, I've been listing my art on Sunday evenings - lots of people told me that's the optimum time! I'd also be interested in the advice more experienced eBay artists have on this question.
