These are for some new bamboo tile/domino pendants. I'm not sure how many different kinds of animals and creatures I want to draw yet. I like to start with th eyes. I didn't have a US penny nearby so I used this Canadian coin.

That's really cool, Amber. I love how you start with the eyes. I always paint the eyes first too. I think with animals, getting the eyes right is the most important thing. I saw some of your pendants in the other thread. They're really cute! -- Kathy

These are almost ready to color. I just need to erase the pencil marks first.

Love to see what others have on their desks too! LOL. Believe me, you don't want to see what's on MY desk. The mermaid drawing is lovely. You're going to want to kill me for saying this, but I think it's great as a black-and-white line drawing. (I know mermaid collectors love color, but I'm a fan of pen and ink drawings). You can really see the detail. The hair is fantastic! -- Kathy

But I *do* wanna see what is on your desk!! Yup yup yup!! I hadn't thought of doing a black and white mermaid - maybe I should! Thanks for liking her! -- ~Faerydae Click to grow: -- Edited by elfwitchshop at 05/09/2009 9:11 AM PDT

Great mermaid, Faerydae! It's always interesting to see steps in people's processes... I just finished a 4 x 6 inch paper sculpture of a unicorn cat, and I took some pictures at different points in the process... The original rough sketch, and the pieces all cut out next to the refined sketch... All the pieces shaped and some sections put together... And then the finished cat... The next paper sculpture I am making is this 5 x 7 inch mermaid... Matthew
