April 2005 I listed my first ACEO. I pressed 'list'. I turned, took a sip of my drink, decided to see how it looked in the listings of newly listed.
I about fell off my chair. It was already sold (had a bid). I'd listed tons of things on eBay prior, but this was the quickest. I was hooked, needless to say. At one stage ACEOs were where 60-80% of those listed, sold. There were about 3 or 4,000 listings - not including those in shops. There were many selling in the $100s, top selling was $500 early 2006 for a cat in oil - that remained until the mermaid/crow stuff, later. Anything with mermaid or crow sold. John had a bluebird, I labeled it 'blue crow' and it sold immediately! Silly stuff. I think the top ACEO sold for around $800. I definitely saw several $700+ Mermaids were being listed BIN for $200 and selling like hotcakes. Some of them were very un-mermaid - looked like lingerie models. And I guess some of them were modeled after just that. *sigh*
I have sold something like 400 or 500 ACEOs I've only done about 12 the past 4 years. They don't sell immediately like before, and often I have to try other sites and/or venues for them to sell.
